EQ2 - Favorite Class?
Especially for those that went a different direction than their EQ mains....
I am enjoying the piss out of playing a Brigand... only lvl 31, but I have spent a bunch of time leveling several different classes up to 20 or so... It reminds me much of the WoW rogue, but quicker and able to handle more mobs at one, even though swashys are better for aoe. I did try a SK (to 22) and while I did enjoy the SK, it was the same class as I played for YEARS in EQ--different or not, it was nice to go a different route.
I also enjoy the ass, warlock, bruiser, etc, but the brig seems to have stuck (for now). It was also really cool to have sylvos and siren mentor down to hang out for my first instance (RoV). There was some other foh person there and good times were had.
All in all, I am enjoying the piss out of eq2, and more specifically, as the brig... still early levels, but the exploring bit is bitchin. No way in hell will I have the time to play like I did in EQ, but that is the beauty of eq2--more like wow, but not so retardedly easy. I am in, I am out, I have good time and can dictate the game as opposed to it dictating me.

Re: EQ2 - Favorite Class?
I took my Wizard to 70, and have been enjoying all of my alts. I have a Monk and Coercer which I have stuck to most. I had really wanted to level my Guardian, but I felt like I never did any damage.

Melee spec warden is the first class I'll actually get to 70.

My swash looks just like Conan except he is a dwarf with black hair and does not wear the gay feathered hat. And he has a beard.....other than that...think Conan.

My swash is 70 and was fun as hell to play. Re-subbing as soon as Kunark comes out, can't wait!

I have a hell of a lot of fun with my warden, but he's only 48. Of the characters I've leveled to 70, I'd probably lean toward my assassin over my conjurer over my shadowknight.

Re: EQ2 - Favorite Class?
What's a good class that does a lot of damage with huge 2 handers but doesn't have to tank ever
Re: EQ2 - Favorite Class?
I've got a 70 monk that I soloed 95% of the time, now that he is 70 with even better gear, half masters and half adept III and keep up with the DPS classes easily in DPS mode and tank instances in defensives stance with ease (HoF, Valdoons, OoB, Unrest etc...) I haven't tried fear year though...
I love the character... I also have a 40 something Guardian and Necro... both of which are a lot of fun as well. The Guardian was my first primary but couldn't do damage for shit... go INT spec... seems most guardians don't but I'm doing a shitload of damage now and of course can tank anything. The necro is almost as easy to solo as the Monk was.
I just started a Inky Fury to play with my Inky Dirge since I can 2 box now. I have a lot of friends with Furies. A DPS speced fury can heal and do some insane damage at 70. Looking forward to Kunark.
Peronally I haven't found one I don't like yet... I've never been a med blast person but even the wizard is pretty fun due to the damage.

Re: EQ2 - Favorite Class?
They pretty much own.
In instances with my very average gear, I can put up around 600 DPS as well as being the main healer.

Right on--talked to Faerin the other night, but have not had a chance to group with him... name's Cohonil... I actually do have a Canelek SK, but hes only 22, and I liked the brig better.
I did finally get a pickup group in RE--that was pretty fun!

Hurry to level 20--at least there is some decent content to work with, group-wise at that point.

I'm having a lot of fun with this game so far but finding a group to grind in a dungeon with is hard and I hate trying to grind in the outdoor zones

Don't roll a SK! Boring class! If you want to melee, go Bruiser. If you want to tank, go Guardian!

SK actually seems pretty fun--although I kind of left mine at 23 when I had more fun with the Brig. Fae seems to like his SK, although I have not grouped with him in a while.

Re: EQ2 - Favorite Class?
Got mine up to 68. I found it to be pretty boring combat wise, but I sort of have a feeling that is mostly due to the combat system in EQ2 in general. I did enjoy my bruiser alt more, although he was only 12. Combat was not a strong point in that game for me. Doing the quests, getting the quest count up.. that was the best part IMO. I enjoyed the heritage quests, the collection and tome quests.. combat was just a necessary means to an end
