A basic lesson in strategy, folks
Ever since our 'exodus' from EQVault, the EQV Veeshan board has seen a sharp increase in posting activity. How can this be? Well, in part it's due to the fact that people seem to post about 10 "WTF Mods?!" questions or criticisms per day.
The mods aren't going to be affected one way or the other if we don't show that they've driven out the community. And we aren't going to show them they've driven out the community unless we (the community) stay the heck off their boards.
I know it's tempting to post there and try to make the mods look like idiots. But truly: what better way to get them to eat crow than not to post there at all?

Even going there counts as a hit on their site right? Well, I stopped going in general, but whats the point of a boycott anyway? Lets say they actually take their heads out of their asses and say "sure you can cuss here, we no longer give a shit"...would I go back there? Hell no.

I've said that before, well said Millie.
Guys, no more, the community barely looks dead, let it die, let posts be people who don't know where home is, and that's it.
If a new community of happy feely huggy brats steps in and decides to post about how pretty the grass is in EQ, let em, we've got a good home here, and need not that board to thrive.

Question here... is their revenue generation/advertising sales ability based on number of posts on number of hits from people browsing?
Just curious... I've been there once in the last week (this morning to see the fuckers still have me banned when I try to login
) and really have no interest in going back at all... but if I get bored I don't want to help them in any way shape or form

Not sure Wulf, but I would guess it's based on the unique hits/impressions they get a day. That helps them sell the advertising anyway. They might get additional funds if people actually click on the ads. (Yeah, right.)

It's not just about post counts. The number of page hits and number of ads served up is what REALLY matters to pay sites. Advertisers are more concerned with how many people have to look at teh ads than how active the board is.
