Car Insurance Inquiry

Post by Xouqoa »

Does anybody here work for an auto insurance company? If I give you a drivers license number can you look it up and see if/where the person is insured? I just need a company name, if they have it.

Boog works for an insurance company (in texas no less).

The Sparrow is on standby should alternative measures be required.

Because the state of Texas does not yet utilize the electronic insurance verification system (think it starts next year), finding out who someone is insured with isn't all that easy. If you're needing to file a claim and the other party didn't give you their insurance information, I would go through your own company. As much as people seem to hate filing a claim whether at fault or not, your company may be able to check through a few places to see if they can locate who someone is insured with. If not, they will just sue the other party to subrogate against your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage or you would pay your collision deductible to possibly be refunded when they get the money from the other party.

Let me know if you have any other questions/info.

*edit* fuck, I meant to send a PM. oh well, happy 5k for me.

happy 5k!

not that it matters, but i was once in a hit and run... i paid the deductible and got it back about 3 months later after they tracked them down (in texas!)... i was stopped at a red light jamming out to music, and an instant later i was rubbing my head wondering wtf just happened (they were doing about 45 when they hit me)
