Walk Canada

Post by Dregor Thule »

Ran across this website, thought it was pretty neat so figured I'd share it. It's a record of a guys journey walking across Canada. I'm going through the pictures now. I'll link the first picture, but you may want to read the introductory stuff first.

Warning! Incredibly boring story about my one and only trip to Canada below!:

So about 10 years ago I was part of an exchange program with some Irish/American thing whereby some Americans came over here and some Irish people went over to America.

I ended up in Montana with a family that ran a paper called "The Montanian" and had a serious "Irish" fetish. They had gone so far as to have made an "Traditional Irish music band" called "Shaughnessy Hill". They toured the Montana/Idaho/Canada border region.

So one night we were in some random hicktown in Canada, which was fucking swarming with mosquito's, after the silly gig we did in some nature reserve on top of a swamp we went into town to find some dinner. There was an Irish Bar there "O Hoolihans" or some crap.

We went in, at which point I was forced to proclaim my legitimate Irishness, and we all got a free meal, as the "band" sang and played Old Traditional Irish tunes" late into the evening.

Due to forgetting my passport, American Border control stopped us for about 6 hours as we returned to Montana, before finally letting me through due to being 12 years old and travelling with a load of hysterical pseudo Irish American men/women. They even got their fucking guns out at one point. 12 YEARS OLD. Silly bastards.

And so concludes my one and only ever trip to Canada.

It was a beautiful place though, and not once did I see a flappy head (take that South Park!)

I'll save you some trouble. Look at this picture 1000 times and your walk across Canada is complete.
