Cannabalisim to survive?

Some people cannot eat other people. It's not that they want to die, but they physically and psychologically cannot bring themselves to do do it. It happened with one of the people in "Alive". She would take a small bite, then vomit it back up. She didn't make it. I don't remember if they ate her later or not.

No fence sitting here! You either eat that human body or die!

As for me? I'm going to eat you if I have to. There's no question. I'd start at the butt and only eat the face as a last resort. Sadly, if you're not in a frozen area, you'll have to make your decision quick and eat fast.

I picked yes... but... I can only accept it if someone else cut it and cooked it. I can't imagine doing that myself and would probably rather die. I guess without being put in that situation, we'll never know.

I wouldn't be able to eat a former pet (cat, dog), but a former person, no problem.

If in a warmer climate, there are probably other options to survive or you'd die from lack of water first. It would be very strange circumstances that would involve something other than freezing temperatures that would prevent dehydration from killing you before lack of food.

But, if you were a prisoner or something where you had access to water and were in a situation that allowed you to live a long time if you had food, I'd eat peeps if I could see a way out of the situation eventually. If I was half dead from radiation or something along those lines, I probably wouldn't chow down someone to prolong eventual death.

I voted yes but, as with most polls, it's not as cut and dry as it seems!

the only woman from that crash that survived long enough to cannibalize was killed in the avalanche and i dont recall her spitting up anything, iirc. though i might be wrong. all of the survivors ended up eventually eating the meat.. including all who had reservations due to their catholicism.. anyone that died after the decision to cannibalize was killed due to existing injuries or the avalanche iirc

youre also more likely to be able to make a fire if you are in a warmer area. if its long term you'll need some kind of meat.. human or otherwise, and i'd bet that most people would have no problem eating a charred piece of meat in a survival situation no matter how old or putrid it is.. most people just dont know what they'd be capable of.

The only problem is that most humans are fat, so it would taste gross, whereas the meat we eat is lean muscle in most cases. I'll take Lamar Odom's calves prz. side o fries

But yeah, in case i had to survive i guess i could eat human flesh. Of course almost anywhere i can think off, there would be other food sources available to eat first

I'd be down for a lottery type situation if that's what it came to. Whoever loses just gets bashed over the head with a rock or something and munched on. I'm not eliminating any possibilities, in a survival situation damn near everyone including the pope himself would do whatever the hell they could to stay alive.

I would totally eat someone if it meant survival. Especially if they were already expired. I'd probably even bonk someone on the head with a rock and feast on their sweet sweet flesh if it came down to it.

If it was teh difference between life and death then I would have no problem. If my kid was starving then I would feed it to them. It would definitely be a last resort sort of thing though. If you ever do have to eat human then don't eat anything but muscle. The liver is loaded with toxins and will likely kill you if you ate too many. Same with most of the organs. Also if the person died from starvation then there wouldn't be much meat but I think it is toxic as well. Something to do with the massive breakdowns of fat leaving toxic stuff behind.

So if youa re going to eat people, find a nice fat person, recently dead. Personally I would go for the savory stew as opposed to just a leg of human bbq.

To survive, yes.

On a related note, I highly recommend "In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex." It's a fast-paced non-fiction read with some REALLY interesting info. It won some book awards including the National Book Award and Moby Dick was loosely based on this true story. Anyway, this whaling ship gets destroyed by a whale and the crew are left with a couple row boats and basically no food or water. They end up resorting to cannibalism. At one point one of the guys (the captain I think?) has to kill his own nephew who lost the lottery. For a non-fiction book it's pretty emotional.

In that case, would kill them in self defense, then eat them. I would also save thier skin and fashion it into a crude mask in order to let others know that I am willing to fucking kill them, eat them, and wear thier skin as a mask if they try and fuck with me.

I'd do whatever I could to survive... actually I think I'd do whatever I could to not suffer from starvation. I dunno... dying isn't that terrifying of a thought, but feeling the pain of starvation I don't think I could handle.

I'd have a much easier time if the meat was cooked, I think it would be really tough to choke down uncooked people meat. Maybe I'm just not hungry enough atm.
