Jack Thompson has requested subpoenas for GW and Jeb. Says that since a couple of letters he sent, one to GW and one to Jeb are cited as part of the ethics violations he's about to be dis-barred over he should be able to depose both of them. He apparently then went on to say that if GW can convince a court that you can't depose a sitting President then he's prepared to wait until Jan 2009 when Bush leaves office.

Of course you know that no judge is going to force a sitting President to testify in this kind of thing so his appeal will be based on not allowing Bush to be deposed and he'll probably get a stay until at least January 2009.

Well, with a little luck, Jackie boy will be in much more trouble from other sources

In the space of a week, he managed to do two VERY stupid things regarding his career (since he is already facing a diciplinary hearing in Florida for several counts of professional misconduct.

First, he appearantly decided that Halo 3 = BAD. Why he did that wiht the 3rd and not with the two first, and why he think that a game with a space marine shooting aliens are training people to kill are anyones guess, but appearantly he decided to file a complaing about Halo 3. That the exact same strategy failed on Bully (where it might have had SOME relevance, since it was at least about school bullying instead of alien killing) dont seem to stop him, and he even managed to include a long list of "facts" that are incorrect or blatant lies

His facts are of this interesting quality:
Defendants Best Buy and Microsoft are presently selling, for delivery commencing on October 25, 2007, the violent, interactive video game” entitled Halo 3.
Note that he got the wrong month on his "fact", unless everyone in the world got the game a month too soon

Halo 3 is a video game that allows the virtual reality player to rehearse violent acts resulting in the death of one’s virtual victims. Lee Boyd Malvo, the younger of the two “DC Beltway Snipers” was trained on Halo to kill residents within Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. His “mentor,” John Muhammad, knew the efficacy of the first Halo video game in this regard, because the Army in which he served used this same murder simulator to train snipers to kill. Malvo learned well on Halo.
Note that Halo 1 was not released when John Muhammad was in the army, and im pretty sure the army dont use Halo to train soldiers to kill

So basically going up agains Microsoft to block a majorly hyped game 3 days before release. NOT exactly a brilliant idea. MS got enough cash and competent lawyers to completely destroy a lawyer already under investigation.

And then, when everyone thought that he had messed up enough for one week, he strikes again.

He appearantly have an almost 20 year going feud with a defence attorney who also happen to run the National Gay News. This time Jack goes after him because he happen to think that having links to sites that can have gay porn on them on a gay news website is appearantly “distribution of hardcore porn to anyone of any age.”
And decided that to really prove his point he needed to attach several gay porn pics to his motion, thus making them available to anyone.
The judges were NOT amused by that little stunt, especially since its not the first time he have done it, AND he have been warned to not do it again.

As an extra bonus, he decided to reply to the court several times, including this:
Thompson may have more to say in his own defense as to his alleged contemptuous behavior, but at this juncture, with all respect, he does not apologize for nor regret what he has done… if this court desires to throw Thompson into jail for trying to sound the alarm in this dramatic fashion… then Thompson is prepared to go there.

So basically the idiot have managed to both go legally up against Microsoft to block Halo 3, AND piss of the judges that have to decide his future with the florida bar by posting gay porn in official documents.
I havent really seen anyone work SO hard on destroying his own career that much before, and im actually beginning to enjoy seeing Jacks name in the news, just because i know ill get a cheap laugh
