See what I put up with for you guys?

Given the rest of the stuff on the page I'd like to have it removed. Among my other clients is the US distributor of Corona so finding my image associated with some idiot who goes by the name Corona doesn't tickly my funny bone or wallet.

Get if off or hear from my lawyer.

This guy owns a web production company and doesn't understand that sometimes images get crosslinked on the web? Perhaps he should learn about meta tags and maybe Google won't index his site.

And what of the leather pants people or the makers of Sybian? Good grief, should just edit the camera view to say "Fucktard Productions" instead of his company name... damn .COMmies!

Hmm.

It's generally considered good "netiquette" to host images on your own server (be it a free one). Image leeching is kinda frowned upon these days because bandwidth costs can get pretty enormous.

I'd still tell this joker to get fucked though.

As Yoda might say - net savvy, he is not

Never mind this is chicken shit stuff, and Corona Inc. would never ever see this. What really boggles me is that he called (VV handle) Corona an "idiot". Now I dont know who Corona is, or what he/she does, but it seems to me that someone wouldnt blunder into such a burried image without having visited the site in the first place, meaning there could be a possible or existant business relationship there. Smooth move.

Direct linking images is bad, and this is certainly how he found out about the posting. So, I guess it was right for him to want the picture removed, but for the wrong reasons ... and he certainly didnt have to be such an ass about it.

Edit: grammar errors ... damn headcold

That's insane. Plus he said "that doesn't tickly my funny bone." Tickly??? A president of a company should type a little more professional than that.

Heh I work Corona, and can't wait to tell him about this. This Clark fucker sounds like a 14 year old playing at being a company president. Zoocow, the terms of this letter do not satify any of the legal requirements for you to pay any attention to it. Check out http://chillingeffects.org/ for details.

Must not be a company of any worth if they do not have someone at least semi aware of the law on retainer to handle things.

I cannot believe he has slandered the VV user who goes by the name of Corona. I am sure that there will need to be a lawyer contacting Mr. Clark for this transgression.

Man, I can't believe this guy is so uptight

Kyoukan has a point, so I will admit that good netiquette is to host the image yourself and will remember to do so in the future. However, I used Google Search to grab the image of that camera, and I wasn't using it in a slanderous way towards his company. I fail to see why he would take so much offense at this, and find it very hard to believe that he has lost money from an innocuous post on a little known online gaming forum.

As for the Corona label... it's a play off my real life last name, and has been my nickname for a very, very long time. It also happens to be my default beer, and if you count consistent product use as support, then I've been supporting the Gambrinus Company (distributer of Corona beers) for quite some time.

I will explain to him how a camcorder from his site ended up on our VV pages as soon as his testicles drop.

Sorry for the trouble, Xouqoa :(

Someone should notify Pilsburry. I am slandering thier name by the mis-use of thier little dude.

Doesn't matter I am causing no harm to thier company name...actually if anything it's just helping to market thier product by repeated exposure....

Doesn't matter that if they ever contacted me about it I would probably boycott thier product (and I do buy as much Pilsburry brand stuff as possible, went through 2 loafs of bread, 2 things of rolls, and 2 things of cookies last week, maybe a tin of brownies too..I forget...and I didn't have guests for X-mas...I mean the last week I was home.

I mean seriously...

1 Month ago we didn't know this dudes company existed right?
A couple weeks ago we knew the company existed due to the post on this forum that linked an image.

Is that a bad thing?

Now this guy comes around and acts like an anal prick about it. Removes the image so his free marketing is now gone, and made us all hate him and his stupid fucking company.

Who is doing the dis-service to his company again? I'm confused.

I would imagine this person is about 15 years of age. Lots of kids that age think they have something new when they make their websites and post their fake companies.

Either way, this guy is a complete retard. Personally, if it brought publicity to my "company," I'd have no problem with someone linking pictures from my site.

He was mad at the thread it was placed. I can't say that I blame him for being upset, but I can assure anyone that NO ONE WANTS YOUR FUCKING CAMERAS. No goddamned camera shoppers are going to stop in VV to see what the scoop on latest virtual-productions camera is.

Yeah, he probably has WebSense or a similar product where he can see entry pages and frequently hit documents/pages/images, etc.. Actually, it is a rather nice tool for reporting and Marketing stats. He is still a tool for being rude however.

I was thinking more along the lines of locking your doors on your house, but bolting things down is never a bad idea either. =D
