Average time to make 1 post here?

No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

Average time to make 1 post here?

Post by Xanupox »

What is the average time to complete a post on these forums?

(Thoughts of topic, wording, editing, re-reading)

Now, multiply that figure by the post count you have...

What did you come up with? How much of that time could have been spent doing something better for you, your familiy or your company?

Is that total more or less than your total, EQ1 /played time?

I liked it better before the edit. You spelled idiots wrong :P

Anyway, most of that time wouldn't be spent better somewhere else. Most of my posts are entered while waiting on something else. I have lots of free time where I work. It doesn't take a lot of time to hit F5, read new posts, and respond to anything that catches my eye.

I've learned and grown a lot largely because of this board so I wouldn't say this is wasted time at all. When I'm programming and hit a rut I come here and clear my thoughts. If you think posting here is a waste of everybody's time, then you should probably think about why you post here, Xan.

1 minute to read, 10 seconds to post, 15 minutes to masturbate furiously at how clever I am. Time well spent, says I!

Too a degree I actually agree with Xan.
Everytime I read one of his posts I realize I just wasted that amount of time in my life.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. Has Xanupox ever started a thread that should not be moved to retards immediately after it was posted?

Maybe the question should have been "Average time that my posts live in the forum they were posted in?"

At my peak posting, the average time was .3 microseconds.

I followed your suggested arithmetic, and I've spent about 23minutes and 41 seconds total on this board.

This post only took .2 microseconds.

Unfortunately, I'll probably spend the rest of my life wondering how you can be such a fucking tool ALL the time.

It's all self indulgence. No one outside of himself and maybe Kylere actually care what he has to say. Everyone knows that for the past 6 years he is one of the biggest douchebags on the server. However, he has transcended that status to this board.

This thread was nothing but a big (obvious) troll but...

There is nothing wrong with my work ethic. My work gets done on time (usually way before it's due) and with a high level of quality. However once that's done I have no problems spending time browsing sites or doing stuff on my home PC over Remote Desktop. And my manager is aware of this. There is x amount of work and once that is done you're basically free to do what you want.

We should only be working 4 days and 30 hours a week as a nation these days. That leaves 10 hours a week for most people at work surf as things stand. Americans don't strike like those lame French. We fixed the glitch without incident.

I read before work if I have a chance. Sometimes post after work....used to have access from work, hence my post count. I don't consider it a waste for the most part. People spend too much time regretting what they do with their spare moments and end up wasting more time. :)

This board exemplifies the many different perspectives of said society, agreeing or arguing their perspective in one place. But they all join in united agreement of the simple fact that I am a tool, and this board is the only place where I receive any form of attention, negative better than none.

COME AFTER ME.... I'M A MAN... I'M 34 (NOT 40).... NOT SOME KID!

Yeah, I used to manage the Celestial Tomb webpage while at work. I was the recipient of the "crackdown" on abusing the internet from my squadron. So there I was, caught red handed with "Illegally Accessing Non-Government related websites". This was a direct violation of pre-established commanders policies. Numerous regulations, etc.

Options? Bend over and take it like Miir did with Furor? Blow my commander like most of CoE did with Leyor? Flat out deny it and act stupid like most of the Euro players did with the EQ GM's?

Naw, I took the "I just couldn't stop myself because of an online addiction" route. Hey, it worked for other people in other realms of addictions to keep them from being punished administratively, so why not try it?

Well, it did not work. Mainly due to the fact it was 2001 and "Internet Addiction" was not an acceptable term. Did I suffer from an addiction at the time? Probably... as did most of you all as well, in my opinion. Did my Commander recognize that? Hell no... he never heard of such a thing. As such...

I was punished as hard as possible within the limits of my Commander for something he had no clue about, which isn't beyond the norm in the realm of military justice. The side effects of that? I decided to quit playing EQ about a year later and Ebayed the fuck out of everything I had. I made over 8k USD in total, which almost covered the loss of pay I endured due to the punishement I recieved from the whole ordeal.

So, what was the lesson? Don't surf the fucking internet while you are getting paid to do something else. Funny how that relates to this post somewhat... but hey I didn't bring it up. You say you have "Free Time" and whatnot, but that time is NOT free. You are getting paid either a salary or by the hour. Those hours are not "YOUR" free time, it is time that could be spent in a number of ways to make your employeer more successful. Acknowledge it or not, deny it to the end. It is the truth.

Having just typed this all from work now, I feel much better.

My workplace doesn't have a "Illegally Accessing Non-Government related websites" policy. Oh darn. The fact is you don't know what policies the places we work at have. For example where I work they specificaly state you're allowed to use the internet for personal use as long as the time spent doing it isn't excessive.
