Phone headsets, not music listening headsets..

Anyone have any personal experience with any that they prefer? I'm considering the Aliph Jawbone but I'm concerned about the reviews I've read about the ear wrap wire things breaking easily.. which would suck, as I'd likely buy it online thus making returning it a pita. However, the call quality and noise cancellation get rave reviews.

I'd rather not have a $100 item that breaks after a couple of days, so looking for suggestions. I'm not the type that would keep it in my ear all the time (h8 those people!), just when actually talking on the phone.. point being, it would have to be somewhat durable for being taken off and on frequently.

I use the jawbone, as do half the people in my office now. There is a significant difference between the noise cancellation of the Jawbone and the other headsets I've used. It does have one flaw though. If the rubberized component that detects your voice gets hit with direct wind, it kicks out some SERIOUS noise for the guy on the other end. That is only when it's hit with direct wind though, not something that happens all that often for me.
Haven't seen anyone break the ear wrap thing, but I took mine off and use the Jabra earplug instead of the wrap because I find them more comfortable.

So you'd say they're durable enough for everyday use then? I've never used an 'in-ear' thing, so I'm not sure how I like the idea of not having that little wrap going over my ear.

My father bought the jawbone and broke it within a week or so (not just the earpiece, the whole thing)
I have no idea how, but I doubt it was the jawbones fault.

As an alternative, I've been reading some good things about the Gennum nxzen nX6000. Nice that it supports BT 2.0, but it's basically ugly as hell. The Jabra BT800 looks nifty and sturdy..

Too many damn choices.

While it may not help the cause since it is the ramblings of a single individual. the majority of our sales force has tossed their previous headsets in favor of the jawbones after calling me or one of the other associates at random occasions. I think the most common scenario was when they would ask why I kept asking them to repeat things and I would say, "The restaurant is extremely noisy" or "The intercomm came on (at the airport) and I missed what you were saying." The general response was, "What noise and what intercomm?" Again though be aware if you do a majority of talking outdoors and in windy environments, this is likely not the headset for you. I do a lot of talking on trains and subways or in airports and restaurants. For me, it works great.

Also. I had the BT800 before I got my jawbone. Neat LCD, noise cancellation is garbage. I had people constantly ask me to repeat myself because they couldn't understand WTf I said.

also, Jawbone is probably the coolest looking one in the bunch, if having some retarded thing in your ear is a necessity.

I wish it was a bit smaller actually. The look of the jawbone is its least favorite aspect for me. But I bought it for function not for form. Hell, I would have considered one of those really stupid looking contraptions they use to show the SEALs wearing back in the movies of the early 90's to get the functionality.
