In comparison to the present neocon cock gobblers, I long for the days of you and your brothers posting here. I mean, yes you said a lot of stupid shit (so does everyone here at one point, or another) but it was at least always entertaining. The current neotard batch are just plain boring, simply put. Honestly, entertainment is the single most important aspect of this place, but I think a lot of people forgot that.

LOL, two of the most obnoxious posters on this board, people who constantly felt compelled to belittle others got their feeling hurt and left the board over some idiotic posts from Mid, Funk and Cart.

The irony in that is precious.

I find it hilarious that someone can chase a person off this board, or any other. Short of IM"S threatening physical violence, I cannot fathom anyone leaving over an annoying poster. To each their own I guess, but don't constantly try to act like a badass on this board then run home to mommy when someone upsets you.

I will actually miss both, it was funny as hell to see Kyou claim others were stalking her, when her posts were the perfect examples of said behavior. I also enjoyed the grumpy, cynical nature of virtually every single post of Noel's. It was like watching a 90 year old man posting every rant that entered his mind.

I disagree with Funk and Midnyte on almost every post they make, but I guess I just don't care enough to look at it as anything but the ramblings of fools. Sometimes it is good to look at the lunacy of the other side to know that you are making the right choices in life.

What I've noticed about this forum is that a lot of the hatred stems from the old EQ days when flame wars over camps and shit were real and legitimate. There are no Yelinaks in real life, so it seems pretty silly that we all can't have an opinion and still listen to one another. Someone on this board once told me that they wouldn't read my posts because I'm not originally from the Veeshan server. WTF?

Move on past the days of yelling about everything and start talking about anything. Unless someone stole your camp irl. Then flame them.

Actually you're mostly wrong. For example Winnow, Aslanna, Forthe, Sueven and Kilmoll were all in the same guild, CT. At one time I remember you didn't see Winnow in game without his pet lizard, Aslanna. Here their discussions are mostly civil, but their ideologies most definately aren't: Winnow has calmed from the G.W. Bush apologist he was and is closer the libertarian ideals Kilmoll espouses but is still miles apart from Aslanna (whom I would categorize as a staunch Democrat), Sueven (whom I would call a soft/centrist Dem) or Forthe (Canadian, mostly liberal leanings from what I gather). I honestly don't remember who Nick was guilded with (or Fash or Funk). Midnyte I never ran across in game (though the name was familiar). Dregor (Canadian with a centrist bent) was in FoH for a good while and I thought Miir (another Canadian who seems fairly liberal but always sarcastic) was as well... which from game feuds would have automatic hatred with the 5 CTers mentioned, but I see no evidence of that. The only time I do see some of the old hatreds pop up from time to time, is in some nostalgia threads in the general forum, and thats mainly when Xanupox gets involved (he was a polarizing figure and probably the most hated person on the server but didn't give a shit what people outside his guild thought).

And honestly I don't think some of our in-game experiences are invalid in helping to formulate our judgements: the show some of the personality of a person, in an atmosphere with fewer restrictions than we normally find in the real world and that reflects some of the core values a person lives by. I do think it is possible to misjudge people wholly based on those circumstances (honest misunderstandings happen and sometimes reactions in them are more strident than they should be), but by the same token you can learn a lot about some people from interacting with them in those environs. By the same token, discounting someone because you never met them in game is as gay as the teal armour Noel used to wear on his ranger (<3 to Araniul).

I was guilded with Cart and he wasn't anything like he was in VV, either. Infact, I don't think he ever once used the word 'cunt'. He was a genuinely nice guy, always willing to help. If I had shown (or is it showed?) people a pic of 'VV Cart' and 'EQ Cart' and said this is the same guy, I'd still be in prison.

Cart was an assclown in game, too. He was just far more subdued about it and next to his guild leader at the time I mostly interracted with him, Blanky, he seemed downright normal. The whole Ixblat incident that everyone knew about pretty much was a microcosm of every interaction I ever had with him, in game. That said, I pretty much never gave a shit about anything, EQ-wise, as it ever pertained to the forum, not even Cartalas.

I was in Keepers of Life (much H8 for avengelyn), OG, Royals, and CT. And a smaller guild that I started, and I think briefly one that sinzar started called rox !

I never had an issue with FoH, even when I was in CT.. One of the first experiences I remember having with running into people way beyond my level (was on my necro fighting those bird things in oasis? I think) and sylvos and bakara ran up to me and asked me to help them get their corpses.. All I knew at the time was that FoH were like gods (I don't even think I was guilded at the time) and I think they gave me like a play or something for helping them, and I thought I was rich. haha.

I actually can't think of anyone on VV that I had any issues with in game.. But it's been so long that I could be forgetting.. But if I did it certainly wasn't with any of the people I commonly disagree with here.

Perhaps, but Winni ruled all! Anyone that would put up with a gnome warrior can't be all that bad! Lizard FD sounded funny and made me laugh! There was a third amigo a lot of the time as well.

I don't see any connection at all between current debates on this board and my interactions with the same people in EverQuest. I can count on one hand the number of people I had any issues with in EQ, and none of them are players that have posted here in years or ever posted here at all.

I'd say even the opposite is true in that some people that I ran into situational issues with in EQ, I get along with better here. Thess, to give an example, booted me out of CT (twice!), but I'd say things are better now. I mention her as she also holds opposing political viewpoints on many topics as well.

Celestial Tomb is a prime example of an extremely diverse group of people, as is evident on this board, that had a great time together in EverQuest. Same goes for FoH and other guild members on the whole, when we were in XP groups, etc.

I even ran around City of Villains with kyoukan in groups lead by thess for a few days so anything's possible.

There are many people on this board who's opinions I respect and sometime agree with while differing from the side I choose to debate here.

We had much more drama in EQ than on this board although I think sylvus might be gunning for me soon with the unban cart/Arizona Sports/360-PS3 triple overload though!

She went to arkansas and married Nost, an old OG druid.

I quit EQ got my academic life together and finished my degree, married a friend from college and got a job as an automation engineer in Houston.

My wife isn't big game player like me so, what time I have in the evenings nowadays I tend to spend offline.

I still love to play, but my I don't have time anymore to play like I did in college.
