I just recently reactivated my account to check it out again after a 5 month break.

I have an Infiltrator on Palomides (Aedari) and a Shaman on Bedevere (Zouqoa).

Heh shoot. I got a hibbie on Bed.

You get SI? Its pretty damn impressive IMO. They also are beta testing a co-op server which is pretty sweet.

Got a Friar on Galahad I usually play. Started a reaver but..albion got shafted on new class's with the expansion =(

Haven't picked up SI yet, but I will if I keep playing it probably. What is the co-op server? I saw some info on it but I haven't been keeping up with patches and stuff so I wasn't sure what it was.

Gaheris (co-op server) lets all realms travel everywhere, everyone can group and the only PvP are duels. Realm points are gained by killing the lords in the frontier keeps. The new graphic engine in SI is pretty sweet. Higher detail textures, water looks pretty sweet..and runs a hell of a lot smoother then the old client.

I'm considering starting DAoC again... Just can't decide. I liked it, but it got boring fast. My oldest character had been a 27 alb merc on galahad...I never got into the pvp/rvr thing..so...

PvP is the only thing that makes the game interesting, I think. Co-op server seems kinda silly, seems like EQ Lite. Or maybe I'm just a bloodthirsty savage. Nothing beats cutting down a caster as they try to flee the battle and they just happen to run straight to you. It's beautiful. ;)

If you come back be sure to pickup SI. The new quests and zones are just awesome. Also in SI zones loot is mostly randomly generated kinda like Diablo which works out pretty good.

If you need some help leveling or want to start a char on galahad (in Xouqoa's case) just let me know. Could make some gear and PL you up with my friar.

Thanks for the offer. :) I don't see myself leaving the two servers I'm on since my chars are both 40ish, though... but you never know, hehe.

DAoC was loads of fun to me, only thing I hated was class balance, back when I played a nightshade on tristan shadowblades used to give us a nice beat down. Don't have a clue how things are now, but I hear they are great.

I played there to try something that was different from EQ. Within 3 months of opening they were nothing more than a weak version of EQ. They had some great ideas at first but then that faded fast.

I hope they got better for the sake of friends who still play. This new server mentioned sounds just like another step towards being EQ's red headed step child.

I used to play a Ranger; I forget what server I was on. It was fun 1 shot killing players 10 levels higher than me for a while, but then I got bored.

daoc was great, played it the day it was released for about 6-8 months.

problem was once you hit max level, the lack of content bored me very very fast. it was fun doing pvp all day in emain macha but gets repetive quickly.

also i liked it at first how there were a few powerful classes (rangers for example) and some classes had weaknesses (friars etc), made pvp have variety. then they started trying to "balance" all the classes, and made the game even more boring. when i quit it was becoming every class of every realm was all getting the same abilities as their enemy realm. made it more like quake then a class based pvp game.

overall i liked the game a lot at the start, but its one of those games you really really enjoy at first, then after you have experienced it a while, you just dont ever play again.

I played a hunter and zerk on Bedevere, but Zo sucked so bad I quit altogether.

Actually I quit a week after that dungeon came out that each realm could get to. between the class 'balancing' and that dungeon i quit and never went back

I am playing on Gaheris now (that's the co-op server). It is a lot of fun, and it has generally attracted a more mature and friendly element, which is nice. I dont know if they are striving to be like EQ or not - I sure hope not, though. I am quite happy no longer worrying about ball-busting quests, and not feeling inadequate about the armor and weapons I have.

With SI, and the open realms, there are more places to go than ever before: I'd put it at least on par with EQ with Kunark for size purposes. There is supposedly more epic encounters in SI as well. The end game on Gaheris will be taking keeps from (beefed up) NPC forces - time will only tell if this will be captivating or not.

Oh, btw, there is a "Fires of Heaven" guild on Gaheris. Is nothing sacred? ;)

Gaheris is basically just a server for the folks that wanted a PvE only server. If customers ask for something, Mythic generally does all they can to satisfy them (unlike VI).

SI has done wonders for the game. There is now plenty of PvE content, as well as a healthy RvR system (depending on your server).

I have a 37 healer on Merlin, and a retired 38 healer on Bedevere. If you come back Zou, don't do it on Bedevere, the realms are way too unbalanced there. Unless you don't care about the RvR aspect.

Just recently bought the game, trying it out after a five month break from MMORPG's. Liking it a lot, playing a troll warrior on Morgan Le Faye and just recently hit lvl 8. So far having a blast, can't wait to get into the RvR however.

I played for a while, I stopped the account but I have a level 15 Armsman (Tomjon) and I had a level 8 ranger.

Have the problems with the bow&arrow classes been fixed (they were getting nerfed to shit), if so I might come back and make one in Midguard /shrug

Heh I have a 22 Skald on Merlin still (back when Conquest/Da'Kor played there). If you guys are looking for a group of EQers to play with come to Galahad/Albion. Been leveling with Xouqoa and Rais and got my necro his infl, and Rais' ice wizzie up to 17 just over the weekend. Got a 50 friar and access to a 35 cleric so getting people some levels wont be a problem, nor will some starting cash. Been leveling so fast that all 3 of us are wearing gray armor ;)

Hunters still suck with bow/arrow compared to scouts and rangers. This last big patch they got better melee tables and an instant castable wolf pet. They still suck though =/

Janx -

Hows the Realm of Albion holding up in Galahad? Only times I played Albion we kept getting our ass handed to us by Midgard.

Did they ever make Mercs not suck? I left because of no love for the class... They had just given us Dirty Tricks, with a crap refresh timer on it.. If they fixed mercs, I'd consider comin back:)

I never noticed any problems with Mercenaries. We had three in my guild on Palomides that were doing just fine in RvR. We had a consistent group though that we always went out with so I'm sure that helped. I'm sure they don't stand a chance solo, but they aren't really meant to anymore than any other class.

Cotto, up untill recently albion had 3str relics. Now we only have 1 due to hibgard (hib and mids teaming up to take them) regardless albion still kicks much ass in RvR.

Kilorn. Mercs are sweet. The mercs in my guild are some of the most insane people there are for dmg output. Its not uncommon to see Jueak (50 merc in my guild) spam kill people. My fav group is me(friar), 2 mercs, cleric, minst, cab, inf (or scout), scout.

Well, I might have to check it out again sometime soon. The main problem with mercs were they wewre unbalanced in dmg output... at around 40-45 or so, tanks would outdamage them with 2handers...also, they lacked special abilities given to the other realm dual wielders... I loved the class, don't get me wrong, it just needed a little more love. I never did any RVR, so not clue on that..only played PVE. My merc was 28 when I stopped playing.

EDIT: Janx, I played mostly duo with a same level friar and that pairing kicked ass. I know we were taking out the giants outside the fort (trying to remember name..) when over half of them were purple to us both. Never did nuch full grouping

I played a norse warrior but atm I forget what server. I only leveled up to about 25 before I started to get into some serious weaponsmithing. I was doing awesome and then they cut the profits when selling to a vendor or doing tasks. I was able to adjust to that but then they decided to make you actually go out and hunt for the materials (ala EQ) which really kind of sucked. That's about the time that I quit.

Reading these posts and seeing a few screen shots of the game almost made me want to go back if just to see the changes. Then a bitch slapped myself silly and remembered that I am holding out for SWG.

If you can have fun playing the game then more power to you, enjoy. Just wasn't right for me for fundamental reasons.

I'll keep an eye out for you Neroon. Me /Xou and gang usually all get together around 6-7cst. Hitting the bgs now that we're all 20+ but I could easily log a cleric on the laptop and give you some assistance in leveling. If you want to level fast stick with the necro, they are just insane in pve and lots of fun.

Can find me on Dmz (necro) or Pilf(friar) and sometimes Shodar(brothers cleric and my buff bot when hes not playing).

Janx, I've got an armsman on Galahad named Kaldaur, he's around 3 right now but I can get working on him again if you've got room in the grouping. Otherwise I'll stick to Percival. Let me know so I can try to hook up with you guys.
