I've got a serious question
Am I the only one that can't think of anything I'd rather eat when I'm high then White Castle?

Re: I've got a serious question
Hmm... It's been a long time since I smoked regularly, and well over 10 years since the last time. Oddly enough, I'm having a hard time recalling my eating habits at the time. I'd burn one to let you know how I currently respond, but I don't even know where I can get it these days
I can say with confidence, though, that it wasn't White Castle. We don't have WC here, but there are plenty of Krystal's, which are essentially the same thing. The only time I can even stand the vile little things are when I'm drunk.

I tried to eat at WC once when i was in the states, was on a dare, and i had to eat 1 slider. I did manage to eat it, but no way in hell i would even go near a WC ever again.

It was all about chicken tacos around here when drunk (didn't get high so don't know about that!)
Filibertos is a small chain, some in Arizona and California. You can get massive chicken tacos for cheap!

Three of those and you'd be stuffed and ready to pass out. They tasted great while drunk but your asshole paid the price the next day. It was a ritual to go to one after the bars closed in college.

There's no white castle around here. Also, I've always been against the notion of teh munchies. While pot might raise your appetite, it doesn't mean you have to feed it.
That being said, I could down a whole bag of Munchos, eat almost an entire large Sabatini's Pizza, and wash it down with a liter of Wild Cherry Pepsi.

Yeah, I might agree with Canelek above that good pizza would be better. However, when I was eating/posting this last night, things couldn't have been any better.
Oh and fash - it wasn't really the munchies - It was like midnight and I hadn't eaten anything all day - so I DOMINATED that food.

Re: I've got a serious question
havent smoked heavily since i left Seattle, but when I was there we usually ordered a big ass pizza from Zeek's.. They make this one with Potatoes on it and tons of cheese and its fucking killer
I can remember one time though I decided to walk home 2 or 3 miles from my buddy's place on Capitol hill after an evening of getting insanely toasted and watching the Big Lebowski. It was very late and everything in Seattle closes down pretty early, so absolutely nothing was open for me to get food. And I'm a slacker guy living in a tiny studio apartment at the time so when I get finally get home I have like.. maybe a forgotten jar of mayo hiding behind the beer in the fridge somewhere. I've never known a hunger so intense. I knew what I had to do. I staggered around my apartment and started throwing couch cushions all over and digging through pants pockets looking for change... with a fistfull of quarters I got on the elevator and headed for the lobby. bullrushed the vending machine and bought about two dozen fun-sized bags of bugles, scooped them up with both arms, and made it back to the apartment. They were all gone within like 5 minutes... the discarded husks strewn about my apartment... my hands and face coated in a thick layer of pure msg. cookie monster looked over at me and was like "man, that guys messy.". I dont think I've ever had a more satisfying meal in my life

so we have heard!
Re: I've got a serious question
We have a buffet style KFC here.
That is by FAR the best place I've ever been to eat after smoking. I've always tended to go for a good meal over junkfood munchies, though I have eaten an entire box of Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies within about 20 minutes.
Not to derail Funk's thread, but it seems like the amount of people who do smoke pot out number the people who don't... at least around where I live. True for anyone else?

Re: I've got a serious question
I know (or know of) very few people that don't. Not that everyone is a pot head, but everyone I can think of (adults included, my dad and many of his friends do occasionally) smokes at least once in a while.
Re: I've got a serious question
Most people do not smoke pot. Maybe 1/5 of teenagers/young adults (in the UK at least, and the UK likes their drugs).
Usually those who smoke tend to hang around with others who smoke, and the same applies for people who don't smoke (weed), they tend to hang around people who don't smoke.
There's really nothing more fucking boring than hanging around with stoned/paranoid people when you're not stoned.

I think that's when she started hitting the harder stuff...ya know...gateway and such?
Re: I've got a serious question
Yeah I guess that's a good point. I didn't smoke pot at all until after highschool and now it's maybe 2 - 3x a week, and I started on my own, but then found my way to friends who smoke... I never really noticed that it happened like that. I still have my whole "straight edge" group of friends, and none of them know I do it, heh. Most people do not smoke pot. And I have to beg to differ on your last point... I always find the paranoid people hilarious... stoned or not.
Edit: The thread title makes me laugh because I'll bet that when you typed it, it seemed like the most serious question in the world, heh

Re: I've got a serious question
I'd just like to point out that I know people who are hilarious and awesome to hang out with when they're stoned, and people who are incredibly boring and lame to hang out with when stoned.
I also know people who fall into both categories when sober.
Being stoned (or drunk, or whatever) can make some otherwise interesting people less so. I have friends who I usually really like but don't enjoy nearly as much when they're high or drunk. Vice versa as well-- I have friends who are much more fun high and drunk than they are sober. It's just a person-to-person thing.

haha ! where is that from, is the place called shake n steak? I get really frustrated because they play tons of commercials for Sonic here on TV and there isn't a single Sonic in the state (their different drink flavors sound intriguing.)
And stragi, that would make it before she had me by 4 or 5 years, as funny as I know you thought that was.

Re: I've got a serious question

I've only had them once from an actual white castle "restaurant". This was about 10 years ago while visiting family in Kentucky. I remember them being really good in that MSG-coated addictive kind of way. The burgers are available from grocery stores also- can get them from Costco.
I don't eat them any more and I don't smoke weed any more, but I could imagine them being perfectly satiating for that all-too familiar munchy craving.

Re: I've got a serious question
I've always found White Castle to be a cheap imitation of Krystal (even if it had over a decade's head-start), and that's saying something. While I enjoy eating the little Krystal burgers, I despise the thought of eating the little Krystal burgers. Also, every time I've eaten at a Krystal or White Castle, my mouth always reeks of some onion-based nastiness that takes multiple brushings and several doses of Listerine to remove. Love-hate relationship.

Re: I've got a serious question
No White Castle in Wisconsin, at least not when I indulged in the occasional high, so my opinion is biased, but I think Taco Bell has to be the king of all Stoner food. I do remember Pizza Pit being a favorite among the more discerning pot-heads around where I went to school, however.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
