As far as the rest of the stuff, I just caught up so bear with me.

1) Comparing guns with cars is a pretty asinine argument.

2) In countries where guns are illegal, many less homicides are committed per capita. The argument that guns should be legal because they help prevent crime is also asinine. BUT, that is beside the point because

3) The 2nd amendment to the constitution of the united states guarantees this country's citizens with the right to own firearms. No amount of crime, murder, or violence will ever change that.

4) I agree with Kilmoll regarding the death penalty for murderers or even if the victim of a gun wound does not die. The intent to kill an innocent person should by itself be punishable by death.

Completely off topic, but it was in the thread and I felt compelled to comment.

To say the current inner city issues exist simply because poor blacks decide that somehow it's easier to become a "thug" is disingenuous and shows a complete lack of understanding the larger issue.

Before you accuse everyone else of being apathetic to the needs of the inner city kids, start looking at the apathetic attitude of the inner city kids. If you want to say its because they don't have the same advantages of people in the suburbs so be it, but saying that is going to piss off a lot of us that came from inner city schools and don't feel like being pitied by people that had more money than us growing up. Apathy to a persons lifestyle is THEIR decision. We live in a country where we do have choices and we ARE rewarded for our efforts. Does that mean everyone is going to be a millionaire? Hell no. There is a choice when you are poor though. You choose to make your life better for you and your family, or you choose to give up because its just "too hard." Fuck "too hard."

On a side note, if you want to pity kids from inner cities, pitty the poor white kid. He doesn't have any ethnic scholarships to get him by. If you really want to pity someone, pity the poor vietnamese kid. Not only does he not have ethnic scholarships (Its possible they do, but I never heard them talk about it), but he probably gets his ass beat when he brings home bad grades. All of the ones I knew personally did. Then again, they went on to be doctors, so don't pity them too hard.

Another odd social commentary... Most of these well educated friends of mine still spoke like thugs when we talked in high school. Its not they they couldn't speak normally. They did so quite well when they wanted to, but the casual conversation broke into ebonics/jive (I'm not black, neither were all of my buddies some were also vietnamese). It did however fit with the environment at the time. Its a bit odd to know that someone can speak quite well, but devolves into a relatively guttural dialect in social environments.

The orgional point of the 2nd ammendant is to provide the populus with the means to protect their freedom and soverenty from forun (sp as allways) invaders/emimies ( i.e. england/france) via the formation of a citizanz militia . The icecream girls are doing such in their country, and I dare say many other middle east locals are doing so also. (oh no she didn't!)
When France tries to invade the US again we should alowe the inner city folks and rural trailor trash to arm them selfs with the devices required to protect us all from the invading forces. ( 2 million lettuce pickers per year for the last decade oboviusly don't count as invaders)
