Lunch => In-N-Out

Post by Vaemas »

Thanks to an onsite client engagement, I had In-N-Out for lunch today after a 2-year dry spell. Discuss.

You could see the sundial bridge too, which is actually worth the trip!

Never really thought it was all that. Glad you enjoyed it, V.

I need to get back out to the left coast for some training or something, I also suffer from In-N-Out withdrawl. The closest thing we have here is 5 guys burgers and fries. Red Robin is good as well for a sit down burger joint.

I dream of someday eating at an In N' Out, and a Carl's Jr. I've always loved Whitecastle, and only get that on trips down south, where I've had the pleasure to eat at a similar place called "Crystal's." Although I actually buy the boxed Whitecaslte burgers in the freezer section of the grocery store.

We do have decent fast food joints up here, and fairly good service, so it's not too bad. But it's mostly just the usual Burger King, Mc D's, Hardee's, Taco Bell, Arby's (loves me some Arby's), and Wendy's. Oh for an In N' Out.

Negative. While they are owned by the same company they are not the same place. They do share some similarities though.

Ah, I guess I never looked at every single item on the menu, but I know when I went from one (I live on the East Coast) to the other (I have cousins on the West coast), that I saw a ton of the same sandwich names and noticed the logo etc. I stand corrected. What I'm more concerned with, is where my god damn Jack in the Box in Northern VA?

What never gets old is the repeat forum police force made up of one.

I really never thought that in-n-out was all that great. Sure it's better than typical fast food chains but you can get better burgers in the same amount of time at a lot of places. Most of the diners near me make a better burger. A place like cheeburger cheeburger which is close enough to my house that I can walk to one makes a better burger (although they don't make them medium-rare or rare). Stewarts makes a better burger. Fatburger is pretty much a clone of in-n-out. And each of these will get you your food in nearly the same if not the same amount of time.

I can't even consider White Castles as burgers. Sure they can be tasty if you're in the mood but it really is hell on a bun.

That burger looks as good as a quickie though.

You could also waste time finding a link to the old thread and posting it in the new one and complaining about it, but you wouldn't be that fucking retarded, or would you?

thats a yes.

#1: Never eaten at an In and Out Burger. I have heard of them though.
#2: Never eaten at a Whitecastle. I have heard of them though.
#3: Eating at Carl's Jr. is on par with eating a dog turd out of the front yard.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a dick I just hate how people love to point out that this conversation was had years ago. I don't do that when my friends and I end up talking about a topic we talked about a year and a half ago, because sometimes new interestering information surfaces!

It's not like this topic was on the first 3 pages of the forum or something anyhow.

You posting that this was discussed is waaaay more annoying than somebody bringing it up again for the third time in the life of this board.

Just for Anders: I ate there again today as opposed to McDonald's, Taco Bell, or Carl Jr's. Cheeseburger combo animal style today.

I try and eat cheap lunch cheap when I'm on the road so I can have a really nice dinner. Per diem FTW!

Not eating there tomorrow as I have other plans!

Having participated in the long-ago In-N-Out threads, it was a conscious choice to create a new one.

They recently opened a Red Robin here, and I was very disappointed. For being $6.50-10.00 "gourmet" burgers, I'd rather just stay home and grill a $0.25 patty. It would taste better and I wouldn't have to suffer the horrible fries. Between the ridiculously priced burgers, a sweet tea, and tip (service was fine at least), I spent $13 for what I could've gotten at a fucking Wendy's/McD/BK/insert-heart-murdering-fast-food-joint.

Hell, even compared to other sit-down restaurants, you can get a better burger at O'Charley's for $6, and that comes with superior fries and an endless supply of those bitchin' rolls!

Try the Royal Robin or the Whisky River Burger, those are muy bueno. Or you could just have a crap franchise extension.

I wasn't too impressed with my first (and only) trip to the Waffle House near where I work. The hashbrowns were cold and the cheese was barely even melted. :(
