So, Whatcha Get?

Post by Bubba Grizz »

What was the highlite of the gifts you received this year for the holiday?

My family has no clue what to buy for me because they understand nothing about computers other than the shit I want is expensive.

I did manage a few nice things (besides a lot of gift cards to Best Buy) like the SG1: First Season on DvD and not 1 but 2 cordless keyboards.

My best gift will be within the next week or so when my first baby is born. (did I mention that we got a lot of baby clothes and such?)

*sniff* True love. Let me know how it is, I was debating if I should shell out the cash for that or not. Maybe wait and score one on ebay.

Put in the order now, get it while you can. Best game period - as long as your a mech fan - this is better than any $1.00 a shot sitdown game in the arcade ever.

Friendly advice:

Have a 3x2 foot space available for the main controller that is fairly smooth for the rubber feet to grip - also make sure you have plenty of legroom below and a 2x2 foot space for the pedals. You can't play this on your lap or anything too short to fully hold it.

Play on a 32" or larger tv - there is OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS going on the screen.

If your mech is about to explode, and you don't press it - you die, taking your save game with you. Even if you're 99% of the way through with the game. Little too realistic in that one respect =/

I got 2 trash cans to sit beside my computer desk. One for trash, the other for empty cans of diet coke, since recycling is mandatory in my area.

I got a new set of drink coasters to sit diet coke cans and coffee on, since my fancy computer desk has yet to be stained.

Some shoes that did NOT fit

A coat, a jacket and a few new games one of which is a total waste, on the PS2.. BMX-XXX. Sucks.

Yeah, all the cool stuff is for the young ones.

My 4 yr old niece got a Barbie Wireless Video Camera. And remote control cars....

I did get a flashlight that doesn't need batteries, ever. It has a magnet that runs through a coil to charge the on-board batteries. You need light, you shake that guy a while and you have light.

Did you get just the movie or did it come in the box with the national geographic dvd and stuff? If you got the box set with no bookends, you were jipped. :(

Pretty thin here, I guess.

A new hat, which was nice. Wife stomped on the old one and threw it out, said it had changed too many shades of brown from being sweated through so many times. Me, I thought of it as well broken-in.

They keep talking about some other gift that was too big to get under the tree. Find out what that one is tomorrow, I guess.

Had a blast making the kids and wife smile on Christmas morning, that's all that really matters.

ROFL...I asked for "Any book that has mean a great deal in your life UNLESS it was written by Ayn Rand".

I got Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants, so I should be in for a good week of mathematical reading.

Don't feel too bad. One year I gave my cousin a copy of White Noise by Don DeLillo and the next year he gave me the same book! lol. Guess he liked it.

Sirton, is that squid thing something like a wooden/plastic handle that is the body, and copper tentacles that spread down in a cone-type fashion? I can't think of any other way to describe the monstrosity that I think it is, but a co-worker got one from his wife. It's some type of scalp massager.
