360 Elite Availability
So we have pretty much decided to replace our old 360 (much
for Costco and their craaaaazy return policies) with an Elite, but I have had trouble locating one and was surprised that they were all selling out, and noticed with even more surprise that few stores had the 360 system with the hard drive in stock. Is it just the area that I am in or are Elites hard to find everywhere?
I also noticed that almost every retailer has plenty of PS3s in stock.

Re: 360 Elite Availability
When I got my elite, I called 3 or 4 best buys, circuit city's , targets, gamestops and walmarts before I finally found a walmart with 1 elite in stock. I did also notice the same thing with the PS3.

Re: 360 Elite Availability
I went out and bought an Elite (my first console since the PS2) last week. Up here they have plenty of them in stock all over, which is nice. No Wiis sitting on the shelves though.
I'm really glad I got the Elite for the 120 gig HDD. I don't know what I would have done with only 20 gig. I spent the weekend downloading every XBLA game (69 of them) and I'm almost through every playable demo too, and I've got about 60 gig free yet.
I picked up "Crackdown" as my only retail game, as I enjoyed it on my buddy's system. Between Crackdown, XBLA and the demos, I put in 40 hours on my 360 over the weekend. I've never had so much fun playing a console before in my life. I just hope we see some good RPGs (Blue Dragon maybe) coming out in the future.
Edit: Meant to say no "Wiis" instead of no "DSs"

That's a major advantage the 360 has over the PS3 right now. You can buy a 360 with no games and have several days of entertainment, trying things out on Xbox Live. If you're a super casual console user, you might get enough entertainment checking Xbox Live once a week or so and playing the demos. And it all works without having to buy an extra cable or plug stuff in to sync. There's also no need to back out of an online "store" either with demos and videos playable right from the screen you download them from without having to install them from another location.Fenna wrote: I'm really glad I got the Elite for the 120 gig HDD. Re: 360 Elite Availability
I personally think now is a bad time to buy a 360. With the possibility of the 65nm core thingie and a price cut.. I'd say give it a few months!

The Elite's have the new heat sinks so it's not as bad as it has been but since I have one already, I'm waiting to buy a second unhacked one for online until the new 65nm.
