Final 9 episodes of the Sopranos

Post by Midnyte_Ragebringer »

Well, for those of you still on the bandwagon, the first episode last night was fantastic. I can't believe it coming to an end though. There's so much to wrap up in a limited amount of episodes.
[Show]
Those ruskies who sold Tony the drugs seemed like a set up to me. It was way to corny. That was very sloppy of Tony to just agree to that right off. He wasn't thinking straight from the beating he took the night before.

There really should be more conversation about this than there is!

Phil will die by Paulie, though I'm not sure where I place AJ in all this.

i cant see aj doing anything except crying and being a giant pussy.
im looking forward to tonights finale, but it's going to be shitty that there will be no more.
i see tony going with the fbi, to protect his family... but for that to happen and tony not to betray any of his people, paulie must die so there are none left.

I guess im the only one that thinks this season has been by far the worst, the writing sucks ass.

I wouldn't say the writing sucks ass, but I do have some issues with how they've paced this season. They basically saved everything for the final 2 episodes, and made us wait and wait while they built up the tension between the two families.

Imho, the season could've started with what Phil decided last week, to whack tony/silvio/bobby, and then been one hell of a ride to the end, reservoir dogs style.

I wont get into every reason I believe the writing has sucked ass because im not sure im prepared to spend that much time on it.......

Man, what the hell type of ending was that on the series finale? I kept expecting Tony to get popped and then ... nothing!

Such bullshit.
[Show]
They focused on a couple of suspicious looking customers in the diner...they show Meadow taking forever to try and park the car...I get on the edge of my seat...expecting that Tony or the entire family sans Meadow gets whacked.

I seriously thought my TiVo screwed up for about 10 seconds...

I'm assuming that was the point. The show ended as the show began, nothing has changed. Tony didn't get whacked in the New York crackdown, making all of us think that first the guy in the USA hat, then the middle eastern looking guy, then the black dudes were going to whack him. That's how life will continue for Tony, always having to watch his back, never knowing where it is going to come from. He loses his generals, he promotes other guys, life goes on.
I'm not mad at it, as I don't really know what else they could have done with it. But I also thought my tivo was messed up.

Great show. The way he made you think something was going to happen was great. My heart was pounding. Will it be the guy who came in with AJ? Will it be the black guys? Will Meadow get hit by a car? Will she get grabbed by the black guys?

I can't wait for the movie.

It was great dramatic tension, when nothing was happening at all... Time was travelling quickly in the episode, and the final scene had to have taken place a while after the hit on Phil since AJ was already working on the film, had a new car, etc...

It's definitely a 'make your own ending' ending. It's sad that it's over, but it was well done.

There was a point in this season where Tony and Bobby were talking about what death was like. Tony said that it was just dark and silent. So one of my thoughts with that 10 seconds of pure silence and black on the screen was that Tony was dead - he didn't see it coming and he just met his end.

Did you notice how they didn't have any music during the end credits...just pure silence? Just another take.

Regards,

Moon

After some thought, I kind of agree. Plus, Gandolfini said he would never reprise that role. At first, I thought there might be a movie. Now, I think Chase was trying to tell you he got popped by the guy who went into the bathroom.

I think Chase was trying to tell you that he made an ending so they could make a movie if they wanted to.
