I think the whole conflict with Sun is that we don't know who the father is. It could be the bald man, or it could be Jin. Sun told Jin that he was the father, but right before she told him that she was flashing back to sleeping with the bald guy. So, we don't know for sure. I think they're trying to play it up that the other guy is the father, so in typical Lost fashion, we don't have a frakking clue.
I loved Desmond's final minutes of the episode. Flashing between him trying to cut that person down and the first time he met Penny. It was such an emotional moment. And how about Kate and Sawyer and Jack? I might need to do a poll to see who Kate should end up with. My money is on Jack, even though she and Sawyer make a great couple. I don't think Sawyer is gonna make it off the island, personally, so that would make even more sense for Kate to end up with Jack as they leave.

Even before that we saw Sun and Jin in the doctor's office when they were trying to find out why she wasn't getting pregnant. I believe the doctor told them that it was Sun that could not have children, but he told Sun it was Jin's low sperm count when Jin had left the office in order to preserve his pride.Kaldaur wrote:I think the whole conflict with Sun is that we don't know who the father is. I actually caught a little secret clue in last nights episode! When Desmond is talking to the priest in his office, it has a shot of looking over the desk at Desmond and you can see a picture withe the priest and a grey-haired woman in it. The woman I think is the one that was in the previous Desmond episode where she basically explains that he can't change things I believe. Hoo hoo, interesting!
Found a picture: http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/4117/bscap0yu5.jpg Looks like it's already being discussed. Hooray for terrible photoshop jobs!

correct. it's not sun but jin that's sterile.. but the island has its ways..Boogahz wrote: Even before that we saw Sun and Jin in the doctor's office when they were trying to find out why she wasn't getting pregnant. that's definitely the same woman.. if it's not photoshop then it makes for yet another interesting twist ;pDregor Thule wrote:I actually caught a little secret clue in last nights episode! Good find! When I saw that picture for a split second, I knew it was important because:Dregor Thule wrote:I actually caught a little secret clue in last nights episode! 1. It looked photo shopped
2. Why bother showing it for 1-2 seconds if it isn't important.
Going back a bit, I think Micheal will be returning to the island soon. Either at the end of this season or near the start of the next. I remember one of the Others saying that the only way to travel to/from the island is by sub (or something like that). Since Micheal took a boat, I don't expect him to get very far.

I agree. I also hope that a Great White Shark then ate his body. And then a Killer Whale killed that Great White. And then Sea World captured that Killer Whale and made it perform tricks on command.Dregor Thule wrote:I'm hoping that the boat capsized and he died a watery death. "THEY'VE GOT MAH BOYYYYYYYYY"

I liked Michael in season 1. I thought he was a good addition, and the mystery with Walt was central to the plot.
Then Season 2 happened. WTF? Walt's powers were never explained, Michael started shooting people and acting all crazy. And then, poof, they disappear. There was no explanation, no reasoning for capturing Walt. They just left the island.
I know that the guy who played Michael wanted to do other things, but since the mystery was never solved, I don't think we've seen the last of Walt, and hopefully we'll get some sort of closure with Michael as opposed to him just sailing off in a small boat.

I heard that they couldn't keep Walt there realistically without explaining away the fact that he was growing up far more than 40 days would allow for
I also think that the actor playing him wasn't able to devote enough time or something, since, you know, he's a kid. Walt was an ok character, and yeah, Michael started off ok, but I was glad to see them go and could care less about an explanation. Better out of sight and out of mind without unanswered questions imo!

I'm sure the Others faked a plane crash so that no one would look for the survivors of 815.
As for the eye-patch dude, what do you guys think about that? I had a sneaking suspicion he wasn't dead for good; after all, why introduce a character with an eyepatch (a dead giveaway for him being a badass) and then kill him off senselessly after introducing him? Mikhail has a part to play in all of this. I do like how he keeps getting the shit kicked out of him by our Losties: first Sayidh, now Jin. That's two points for our boys!

Yeah but his depth perception is all effed up, is it really nice to pick on the handicapped?Kaldaur wrote: I do like how he keeps getting the shit kicked out of him by our Losties: first Sayidh, now Jin. That's two points for our boys!
And John killed him once, so isn't that three points for our boys?

I don't think he really died. Maybe I'm skewed because of television, but can't some people throw themselves into a seizure? Like a voluntary epilepsy? So far, people haven't come back from the dead on the island. They stay dead. I don't know why Eye-Patch Dude would be any different. My guess is he just faked it.

For the plane crash, it could be several reasons.
1. The Others had a fake plane and bodies.
2. They are in some kind of time shift, maybe thrown into the past. In season 1, they found "Adam and Eve". That could be Jack and Kate for all we know!
3. They are actually dead.
4. Something I didn't think of yet.

I'm leaning toward the fake part. The media was probably just fed some bs story about the wreckage being found so that no one would try to look for them.Lynks wrote:For the plane crash, it could be several reasons.

Looks like a lot of people think it is Locke. Fortunately we had the tivo going last night. I told the wife I saw someone in the chair, she said no. During the next commercial we went back and their was Locke, in a wig sitting in the chair.

One of my friends that I watch it with told me before the show started yesterday that She said that she heard it was a flashback episode for him, and with the foreshadowing we'd seen that it had to happen.
I maintained from the outset that it was misdirection on their part, and it appears I was right! I don't like to believe that second theory, but how else would Also

Yeah, Locke's character had no resolution whatsoever. I think we'll see him come back as some sort of visionary/prophet for the Others, or someone with a vendetta at having to sit in a pit with hundreds of bodies and wait for the island to heal him.
As for Charlie, I don't want him to die. I know a few of you don't like him and think that he doesn't have any chemistry with Claire, but I love their relationship. I thought it was cute that this was the first time they have ever kissed. I'm not gonna lie, the four or so people I watched it with all confessed to tearing up like three times. I was getting angry, because as Sylvus said, everytime they start to wrap up a character's life, they get the axe. I'm still rooting for him to live. He appears to have been captured, but remember, Desmond is still up there in a boat. If Charlie can't break himself out, maybe Desmond is going to come down and lay the smackdown on these two chicks.
I can't wait for the next episode. I'm afraid the cliffhanger for season 4 is going to be too great for me to wait till January

In season 1, I was so mad when I saw Charlie dead. In season 2, I didn't care if he lived or died. Now in season 3, I want him to live.
I think Desmond didn't tell the whole truth. He's leaving something out. I'm guessing he saw his own death and maybe tried to ditch it on Charlie? The whole drowning thing could of been made up so that when Desmond and Charlie were walking back to see Jack, Charlie would volunteer to do it since it involved water and that he was told him drowning would save Claire.
1 of the chicks looked like she was part of the tail section too. The one with the short dark hair.

Charlie's cool, and I don't think he will die. They built up the "will he/wont he die" thing too much right up to the point when he was going into the Looking glass. It would seem too clichéd for him to die now.
Locke on the otherhand...I'm not so sure.....that would suck. He is pretty much my favourite character, along with Sayid (who is just plain cool).
Gah it pisses me off having to wait for episodes

I think they'll keep Desmond alive just because of the Penny angle. She's trying to get to them, and the reunion between those two will be like a Rose/Bernard moment. I think the writers realize that although we follow them on their twists and turns, it's because we want good things to happen in the end. A reunion between Desmond and Penny would be one of those emotional moments we wait six years to see.
Sayid is a badass. I think a lot of that stems from his eternal calmness. He always seems in control of his emotions, and that cold calculating killer angle fits him perfectly.

Tomorrow's the big day...I can't wait! Do we have any predictions on who is going to bite it?
Mine:
Tom (the big Other)
Bernard
Kyle (the boyfriend of Rousseau's daughter)
I don't want any of our main castaways to die, so I'm not putting their names on the list in the hopes that they will survive the upcoming battle.
I'm so excited!!!

Wouldn't it be a shocker if Jack or Sawyer died? I think the ones you mentioned could very well die. If a main cast member was going to die, I would place my bet on Desmond (I really don't want to see him go). Sayid comes in a close second (we saw a lot of his story already and his character seems to have faded a bit)
Whoever the flash back involves will most likely die.

TBH, I didn't even realize Bernard and his wife (i forget her name) were even on the island anymore until they showed up last week. Hadn't seen them in some time. My money would be on him dying, though it then seems kind of pointless that they ever reunited in the first place. Haven't done much with them since then.

Her name is Rose.
I'm thinking Bernard will eat it too. The scene where she objected to him being part of the plan seemed kind setup-y.

They had a whole flashback episode! I think I remember on one of the commentaries on season 1, they say they would have liked to have Rose on full time, but she wasn't able to commit to it.Sylvus wrote:TBH, I didn't even realize Bernard and his wife (i forget her name) were even on the island anymore until they showed up last week. She had a great common sense spirituality in Season 1 that offset Locke's weird island mysticism. Their reunion was the best so far in all of the "return to base camp" reunions. I don't know about killing him off, because he's supposed to stay on the island with Rose for the rest oftheir lives. It would suck to just kill him off.
Thanks Dregor, I knew I didn't get it right
The kid's a little punk anyway, not really anything important except the minor story of Danielle's daughter.
The episode is a Jack episode, hopefully it will be more important than his silly tattoo episode. And also, I read somewhere (not for sure) that Lindelof or whatever his name is is thinking about changing the way episodes are run. There might not be too many flashbacks in the future from now on, so we'll see. I'd personally like to leave them behind, because we could advance the story that much more without some flashbacks.
