Upcoming 2007 games (collection of videos)

Post by Winnow »

Some good videos after the link:

http://www.gamelemons.com/blog/2007/05/ ... n_2007.php

Halo 3: 360

Looks fun! I like the trip bombs, forcefield bubbles and man cannons (strange name)

I like the offense/defense oriented maps as well. Also like that you can replay the game from any viewpoint so you can learn your enemy's strategies! (some may not like that but it may prevent repetitive sniping from a particular position)

Spore: PC

Seems more like a CGI movie than a preview of the game. The idea behind Spore sounds really cool but I get the feeling that once you've created a a couple unique races, they'll start to not be so interesting each time quickly after that. It looks like it will be worth it for sim likers though.

Metal Gear Solid 4: PS3

Long preview movie (almost six minutes)

-that's totally going to be kyoukan sneaking around in the barrel
-like the little robot thingy that sneaks up and shocks the enemy. Will be cool if can control that remotely.
-I can't tell if some of this is rendered or if it's actual gameplay. Some cool stuff if not rendered.
-sounds effects even in this movie seem good
-bird shitting/stealth effect looks cool

Hellgate London: PC

This looks like fun in both solo and MMO modes. Diablo 2/Ex Blizzard peeps are behind this one.

Lair: PS3

eh, looks like mass killing sort of like Ninety-Nine Nights which sucked.

Metroid Prime 3: Wii

Stupid gay Wii game

Assassins Creed: 360/PS3

It's a movie. The movie looks ok but who the fuck knows how the game will be. Some gameplay would be nice.

Mass Effect: 360

Hard to say from the video, but looks like it could be fun.

Tabula Rasa: PC

This game sucks until I get into the beta. (video looks promising though!) Those sick of a fantasy setting in MMORPGs might like this one.

Too Human: 360

Mass killing but looks like the best of the mass killers with leveling and customization.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Wii

Super gay Wii game but the least gay looking of the Wii games.

BioShock: PC

Better begood after all the hype

The Super Smash bros. games are always a lot of fun. We played those for hours each night. I wonder how thye'll be on Wii. I can forsee a lot of accidental punches and collisions between players.

Too much Wii bashing!

Not on the list but I'm looking forward to Alien Syndrome. I liked the original arcade version.

For PSP and Wii. Although the Wii control sounds like it could be work. I hope they have a standard lazy mode where you just push buttons.

And don't forget Call of Duty 4. Moving out of WWII and coming back to the PC and skipping consoles altogether. Or at least that's what it used to say on the Activision site. For some reason they removed all references to CoD4.

Agreed, leave the Wii alone. The games made the list for a reason! Oh and Super Smash Bros for the Wii will include Solid Snake, rock on.

It all looks pretty boring to me. I guess Spore looks ok.

I played for several hours too with some friends a few nights a week. There's so much end-user content in the sense that there is a potentially massive difference between good and bad players. Any game that can capture that feelin' is a winner for me. Being good enough to get a few kills in a row against some nubs is a heck of a reward.

Captain Falcon. Haven't used Falcon Kick for probably the last 200 games.

Mario Galaxy looks amazing.. it will take platform games to the next level.

The G4 exclusive for Mass Effect was a horrible piece of marketing, that shit should be disclaimed. They tell you what you're supposed to think... Unreal.

Spore's video there kinda sucks... but if you're interested, there's a true gameplay demonstration here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQvswZ39vq0
I think it's my #1 pick for PC game to buy this year.
