Minimize the effects I can buy to a certain extent but do they prevent alcohol poisoning? I've no idea how much beer it'd take to get to that point, somewhere up around a .3 BAC.Nick wrote:Way to continue to miss the point that drugs minimise the effects of alcohol on the body like nothing else on Earth.

"Life is what happens while you're making plans for later."
To reach a BAC of .3 a 200lb person would have to drink roughly 17 beers in ONE hour. Considering that's fairly impossible, you can adjust the time as you see appropriate.
I used this to estimate- http://www.ou.edu/oupd/bac.htm
For each hour you add, subtract roughly .02 (it's a little less, but they don't give you the fractionals) and for each beer, add roughly .02 (again a little less, etc. etc.)
You can change the weight if you want, I just figured that was a rough average for fatass americans. For each 20lbs you drop, add .02.

I have no doubt in my mind that my BAC has been over .3, you also aren't factoring in tolerance. I know a guy who was passed out for 2 hours then woke up and snuck his keys out to drive home (we had taken them away from him, as he has a habit of driving home when he shouldn't). He fell asleep halfway there and was awakened in some guys front yard (or, more correctly, some guys ditch in his front yard), by the police, who gave him a breathalyzer. He blew a .21, and this was at least 4 hours after he finished his last drink. I can drink more than this guy.Aabidano wrote:Minimize the effects I can buy to a certain extent but do they prevent alcohol poisoning? And to nip it in the bud, I never drive after having a drink. Not one beer. I do not condone my friends behavior, but for the record, this was 2 years ago and he still doesn't have his drivers liscense back. And he didn't have to kill someone or die to learn his lesson, though he still learned the hard way.

30 beers in a night is really not hard to accomplish to be honest. I know I used to do it regularly when I was drinking. Me and a friend of mine would pull 5-6 pitchers in the bowling alley between the two of us and then go out drinking in the bars afterwards. A pretty average night back in the day would be 25 American beers....or a fifth of Jack or Jim or Makers mark. I don't doubt I could have hung with the euros one bit back then.
That's my point. It isn't hard at all if you drink regularly.Kilmoll the Sexy wrote:30 beers in a night is really not hard to accomplish to be honest. I'm familiar with binge drinking and heavy drinking. One year in college, I think there were maybe two days out of the entire year that beer didn't enter my system.
Sorry, not going to believe this until I sit 30 beers in front of someone, let them get jacked (the effects of which are double vision, seeing twice as many drinks) up on drugs, and watch them drink away.
It's more the quantity of liquid than anything. I see people struggle consuming one gallon of water, go fill up 4 gallon jugs of water and drink away. Go ahead, you can try this at work.

4-5 beers an hour for 6-8 hours isn't that much at all, hell, when I drink to get plastered I normally have 6 or 8 down in the first hour. I've funneled (or beer bonged, depending on your location) 3 beers twice in less than 10 minutes before. I have drank a 2 liter filled with keg beer in 20 minutes playing a drinking game (I puked that night).Winnow wrote:I'm familiar with binge drinking and heavy drinking. And water is very different from beer. For one thing, alcohol removes water from your system, where as water, well, it's water, what do you think it's going to do? I'm done with this argument. We used to fight over who could drink more in 9th grade, this is stupid. And just for you, Winnow, monday night (my saturday) I will sponsor a 30-pack race with myself and my friends. I bet at least half of them can get it down before the sun comes up.
All those are one time events, not every hour for six hours. (except, for the 4-5 beers an hour claim)Al wrote: 4-5 beers an hour for 6-8 hours isn't that much at all, hell, when I drink to get plastered I normally have 6 or 8 down in the first hour. I'm not fighting over who can drink more. I'm disagreeing with being able to drink that much.Al wrote:And water is very different from beer. Let me know how the competition goes!
I had another friend claim that his uncle could drink a case of beer and then go to sleep without ever going to the bathroom until the next morning.

One night we were surprised with a game of Edward 40 Hands. (Edward Scissor Hands spoof for those of you who are slow)
You tape a 40 to each hand, and you can't take them off until both are gone.
I had to pee when we started, I was a few (4-5) beers and a few shots (3-4 of rum) into the night and before I knew it I was taped up. I finished both 40s in a hair over 7 minutes, heh.
I was wasted =)
Am I a lightweight?
It's weird because I've had nights when I can finish a Liter of rum in a few hours and then go out and drink more at a bar, and then nights like that one when I was pretty drunk after way less alcohol.
PS drugs are bad. What does hash do anyhow? It's like strong weed I hear?

I've seen people consume 30 beers or more in a night before.
It's definitely not impossible.
I have limited drug experience, I know with weed I drink way way less. If I drink a lot and then smoke I'm on my ass / sick - depending on how much I drank.
I would have guessed it would be the same way with other drugs, though it does make sense that uppers like coke and speed would cancel out / mask the effects of alcohol.
Still, if you're on coke / speed / E / whatever, wouldn't your body just say enough already and make you throw up if you try drinking 30 beers when you normally drink 10?
I mean, even if you don't feel its effects it's still just as toxic to you.

Hash is basically concentrated weed.
Anyone here ever drink to serious excess on acid? I haven't, but I know that acid dulls your limits for a lot of things (you can smoke pretty much indefinitely on acid). I've heard that acid and alcohol cancel each other out to an extent. I would bet that you can drink awfully excessive amounts while tripping.

I remember drinking southern comfort and orange juice one time after eating a couple of microdots. One of the things I do remember is talking about not feeling drunk. Luckily there was only 1 bottle of SC between 4 of us and we decided after that to crawl around the attic sitting in the rafters.I would bet that you can drink awfully excessive amounts while tripping.
Don't know if that bears any weight, but that's the way I remember it some 25 years later.
When I turned 21, I weighed 145 and drank right around 23 shots in under an hour. The next three days easily made up the worst week of my life. Never did find my shoes.Truant wrote:To reach a BAC of .3 a 200lb person would have to drink roughly 17 beers in ONE hour. I did once back in high school. Though I didn't drink anything close to 30 beer (don't care who you are, that's a lot of fucking beer), I was able to polish off well over a 12 pack, and didn't feel drunk at all. I wouldn't exactly say it cancelled out becaue I was still tripping balls.Sueven wrote:Anyone here ever drink to serious excess on acid?
