This pizza fucking sucks. The cheese is boring, the tomato sauce has no taste.

Small non-chain places are usually better.

If I have to go chain here's how I rank them:

1. Papa John's
2. Pizza Hut
3. ... not really hungry for pizza afterall
10. Dominos

The Pizzas in Italy and France were much worse than the ones here in Stocktown :)

Those were greasy, like small shrimps swimming in pools of oliveoil, the bread wasn't as firm either, too much grease, YUCK

Here in Sweden though, the majority of the Pizzas are STURDY! Lots of ham, shrimps, edible bread that's very crunchy etc and not as much oil and grease as in the southern europe.

Shrimpies are great! Crabmeat too! And Tuna!

We even have roastbeef with bearnaise on some pizzas, and kebab with garlicsauce on our pizzas, sometimes even bananas with chili or curry.

Meself, i prefer the fishcake-variety, with LOT'o' ham, shrimps, artichoke, asparagus, mushrooms, crabmeat, tuna and cheese with lots'o tomatoes.

Two weeks ago I ordered Pizza Hut on a Tuesday night at about 8 pm. It took an hour and fourty five minutes to arrive, and was stone cold. I refused to pay. They made me pay. So I drove over and made them give me a free pizza.

It was cold.

Spinach
Broccoli

And yes, he thought it was a little tame too :)

Yeah, i never figured out the idea of steak and bernaise on a pizza though .). Steak and bernaise are good, but not after being in an oven on top of some bread :).

Shrimp, crab, lobster, fish... All fan-fucking-tastic. I'm not putting that shit on my pizza though. To quote a very wise (and sexy as all hell) man:

Hey Mid - every time I come back home I have to get some Grotto's. I also try and hit Centiole's in Girardville.

I miss home for so many reasons - good food is among the top reasons - and pizza and bagels are at the top of that list!

I also miss Wegmans...damnit.

I tend to like small family owned places better as well. However - I have been in Chicago many times, and I must say that their pizza is still inferior to the best pizza in the world (New York pizza, from pretty much any one of the 8 billion pizza shops in the city.

Then again I hate deep dish.

My favorite pizza is from a local restaurant in my home town. The Winslow Way Cafe on Bainbridge Island, Washington.

It's a thin-crust pizza that uses plenty of extra virgin olive oil instead of classic tomato sauce. The toppings are mozzarella, tons of caramelized onions, pine nuts, and Gorgonzola. Baked at super high temperature in a brick pizza oven.

Best pizza I've ever had.

They also make a great one with mozzarella, Italian sausage, mushrooms, olives, and pine nuts. Again, they use extra virgin olive oil instead of tomato sauce.

Lately I've been making white pizzas at home:

Tortilla, olive oil, mozz, feta, sliced plum tomatoes, cracked black pepper.
Easy, tasty, not so fattening.

It is perfectly acceptable to put seafood on a pizza as long as you substitute pesto for the tomato sauce. Otherwise, it tastes and smells like vomit.

I thought this was bullshit ~ 6 years ago when an old direct report of mine advised me that the wilkes-barre area has a huge traditional Italian population. I wouldn't say the pizza is much better than what I get but I like a traditional pie so sauce quality is everything and the place a couple of blocks from me jars their own sauce it's so good. That being said, it's no bs, the pizza in that neck of the woods has few if any rivals.

I would never eat pizza from a chain. There are just too many local shops that dance rings around any of that chain pizza shit.

That's why I go nowhere near the Culinary Delights forum. Buttered noodles with salt is my favorite meal. Nothing's better! Screw all the spices!

Pizza wasn't meant to be fancy either. Costco/Papa Johns with extra cheese please.

When I used to eat pork, ham and pineapple was a very tasty combo on a pizza. I couldn't see it without the ham though. Don't like it? Don't order it as a topping. It's all about choices! That's the great thing about it... Get what you like. Personally I think pepperoni (and sausage) is a crap topping. Unless you want half an inch of grease on your pizza.

Gordon Ramsay’s White Truffle Pizza, London

This pizza at Grosvenor Square restaurant Maze is almost as infamous as hot-headed creator, Gordon Ramsay. With every order, head chef Jason Atherton personally delivers the pie and FUCKSHITBITCHASS on your desired amount of Umbrian truffle shavings.

Price: $50, $80, $100 (depending on amount of truffle shavings) For more information: http://www.gordonramsay.com

Or if on this side of the pond.

Nino's Bellissima Pizza, New York
It's only natural that pizza, an absolute comfort classic, should make another appearance on our list. At New York's Nino's Bellissima's Pizza, chef Nino Selimaj replaces Ramsay's seasonal white truffles with Royal Sevruga Caviar, crème freche, and thinly sliced lobster, ensuring that New Yorkers will have the opportunity year-round to spend $1,000 on America's favorite comfort food. While the dish has yet to catch on at Domino's or Pizza Hut, rumor has it that NYPD cop turned novelist Bo Dietl is totally in amore with this pizza pie.

Price: $1,000/pie. No individual slices sold; order in advance.

Has anyone here ever had a real truffle? I remember going to DiBruno Bros. in Philly and they were selling these white and black truffles for some crazy amount like $1200 a lb or something. They had one the size of a golfball that someone bought. It was like $800. I couldn't help but wonder what it tasted like for someone to spend that much on something. I'm not a lover of mushrooms/fungus, so I dunno if its something I'd like anyway. So what does a true truffle taste like and is it worth the crazy price??

I've had white truffle shavings before, which were on top of a pasta dish I had. Though they are very expensive, they have such a pungent flavor that you only need a very small amount to get the job done.

The taste I remember had a nutty, cheesy(the kind that smells like a sweaty foot), garlicky taste. By itself it's kinda gross, but it works very well in certain dishes.

I don't know why, but people dipping their pizza in ranch dressing drives me up the wall.

You're the fast food king of AZ, what the hell do you know about food quality?
That's why I go nowhere near the Culinary Delights forum. Buttered noodles with salt is my favorite meal. Nothing's better! Screw all the spices!

Pizza wasn't meant to be fancy either. Costco/Papa Johns with extra cheese please.
You have shitty taste in pizza - BUT - you have good taste in peasant food! I love buttered noodles with a little salt. Do you use the wide egg noodles?

I use wide egg noodles the most as they don't take long to cook and are easily speared with a fork. When I crave extra butter I'll opt for the shells which capture more of the buttery goodness but must switch to a spoon for that. If hungry and/or in a rush, I'll use the little elbow noodles as I can shovel those into my mouth the fastest although I'm most likely to overestimate how many noodles to cook. Their deceptively small size fools one into pouring more into the pot than needed. I'll cook the twisty noodles once in awhile but they just end up irritating me with the extra challenge required to spear a large mouthful without one dropping off or butter flying off one like a coiled spring.

When I want to add some sort of sauce, I'll cook Angel Hair noodles. They are the fastest of all to cook but require the extra effort of spinning them on a fork before consumption.

Break them in half first. That's how I make pasta. Makes it a lot easier!
