Well, my nephews talked me into trying this out, so I signed up for the demo. I've got to say they do do some nice story telling with the newbie quests, and I haven't had so much fun just wandering around checking out the lay of the land since I was in Horizons beta (for all that they did wrong in that game - and it was plenty - the devs of Horizons really did a nice job creating the world you wandered in).
I don't know what server they are on, but having now seen this thread, I did start on Landroval:
- Ogbar Dwarven Champion
- Aaluhta, Female Hobbit Burglar: I couldnt make her as a female dwarf in this game (grumble) so I settled on the hobbit.
- Dwo, Dwarven Minstrel.
I don't know if I'm in for the long haul, but it is a fun diversion for now

Unfortunately, there is a bug with Turbine's games that causes some people to be unable to move. The common fix is to reset their router, and usually the game works again. However, I'm on a college campus network, and I have tried to get my school to reset their router. They refused, citing some bullshit about not giving out confidential router information to students. So, it looks like I'm not going to be able to play the game any longer.
Apparently, this problem has been around since DDO, and Turbine never actually acknowledges it. It looks like I'm shit out of luck
So you guys can remove me from Jormungandr. I won't be coming back to Middle Earth for awhile
Thanks anyway, and I hope you guys have a great time.

Kwonryu

Your character is saved, if you decide to come over to LOTRO.
The starting city is really dark. If I feel like playign it through the beginning scenario, I'll take another pic in a brighter place.

Re: Character names
been playing very casually with some RL friends since May; I'm really enjoying this game a whole lot when i get the chance to play. We are in a pretty decent kinship too that have been actively raiding stuff but we are not up to that level yet and won't be for a while...the group content and lore is dope as expected. All of my toons are on the Brandywine server.
Saikou - 35 Elf Champion
Asparagus - 16 Hobbit Minstrel
Zwei - 10 Man(woman) Captain
