I'm DLing it now to test. Is there any information on specifically what directory it goes into? Do I need to remove any files?
I've got a pretty high-end system, and I thought LotRO looked like shit when I tried it out. Very drab and boring imho. I'm not here to bag on the game, but I definitely would like to see it in the manner the creators intended before I solidify my opinion.

Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Yeah. I've been downloading it for 7 hours now and it's only at 17%. Fucking ridiculous.Kryshade wrote:I tried to download this off Pirate Bay but there were no peers. I've never used Bit Torrent before but I'm pretty sure I was doing it right. Tried a few other sites but again no peers so no download.
Anyone have this file that could email it to me or host it?

I got the file, dropped it into the directory and noticed no change.
I already had everything set at max detail, but I went back through to verify. I have a buddy who pre-ordered and has the DVD. His current install is from the DL, so he's going to reinstall from the DVD to see if he notices a change.

I was reading, you had to repair your installation once you've done that. I'm not sure where you do that though.noel wrote:I got the file, dropped it into the directory and noticed no change.

Pretty sure I got it working by repairing.
Repairing takes place by selecting options from the launcher. All it seems to do is reset everything to the default. Then you go in and re-enable everything. It looks great, though not very different from what I can see. The textures on the clothing of the character models seem to be the biggest difference.
Hope that's helpful.

I'm OK with there being different sets of textures sets that vary in resolution but not look. What bothered me a lot in the original EQ was when they decided to change the character models along with the look of armor so you never knew how a person was viewing your character. MMORPGs are about a shared experience and if half of the people are viewing a totally different view than yourself, it kind of defeats the purpose. I hope we never see that in a game again.

I am DLing high res client.dat on torrent. Its been 3-4 hours now and at 65% so it should be done by tomorrow morning when I get home from work.
Yeah I read you had to run the installer again and choose REPAIR as the option, instead of Install or Uninstall. Then it enables the highresclient.dat file.
If I get it working I will try to take some SS of it Sunday.

Well then it's a good thing they don't have doors... we wouldn't want those trolls escaping and upsetting the overly sensitive LOTRO players.Boogahz wrote:I hear they're infested with scary trolls~!miir wrote:Hey Mid, what's inside those buildings behind Kwon?

Well, actually, in the first picture, the one to the left of Kwon's face (meaning the back and right) is the jail where, upon heading in, you talk to Ned Pruner. The building to the right of Kwon's face (meaning the back and left) is an inn where the main prologue story line begins. It's only a small, three room building though.
Hope that helps miir.
