Who's Piven? I don't know any of the characters real names. I liked the show. There should be another thread here discussing the show.noel wrote:Season 1 is out on DVD May 10th. I'm a huge Piven fan, but I've never seen this show. Should I preorder?
I think I still have all the 1st season episodes on my Tivo.

The show is really good. I had several friends just catch a random episode with me and all of them ended up watching and enjoying all the other episodes. It's very entertaining, I wouldn't be surprised if the next season has more than 8 episodes. A lot of times they'll just do one batch of shows and if it becomes popular they'll make a whole season.
In the same situation as Sylvus, I had a friend watch Entourage and they got hooked as well.
The first episode of season 2 was tonight. It was a good start to the new season!
[hide=Season two stuff]Vince needs to do Aquaman. He did the bullshit artsy fartsy film. He needs a big money Summer flick so he can have a little more choice in his next film. It can't be as bad as Catwomen! I'll be a little disappointed if he screws things up too bad. You don't turn down a big paycheck for a comic hero movie. They may suck but never seem to hurt anyone's career and have made a few of them.[/hide]

[hide]If you saw the actual Aquaman costume then that was the third episode. Was there a party at the playboy mansion as well? Hopefully you can catch the first two sometime in the next two weeks. "E" breaking up with his GF is good stuff.[/hide]noel wrote:I caught the second episode last night.
[hide]That fucking Aquaman costume was a new level of horrible. Hopefully that costume doesn't do for his career what the Batman costume did for Val Kilmers.[/hide]

Ahh ok... my bad. That was the third.
[hide]Loved the Ralph Maccio and Pauly Shore cameos. It was one of the better episodes I've seen.
But yeah, that costume... I hope they do change it to whatever Ari said... a Yamakah and shorts or whatever... Anything but that thing... and I'm a fucking comic fan...[/hide]

Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
I'm surprised more people don't watch this. It's a great show IMO for some laughs without a huge plot to follow.
The season finale is this Sunday.

They made it through the second season without money issues bringing the mood of the show down. I hope they continue that way for season three. Vince needs some money though!

Aquaman lives!
Looks like we have a Sopranoesque wait until the third season starts though.
This is the best series that only I seem to watch. I don't know what freakish reason is why more VVers don't watch Entourage but people I've talked to outside of this forum are hooked after seeing an episode or two.Entourage will return to HBO for a third season. The third season will run for at least 13 episodes, with a start date yet to be announced.

You're not the only one. I wish that it was an hour long and they made 40 episodes a year.Winnow wrote:This is the best series that only I seem to watch.
Okay, that might be pushing it, but I am sad that it won't be on for a while.

Hey, we've been saying it's a great series as well! What are we? Chopped liver?Aslanna wrote:Season 1-2 were recently posted in alt.binaries.multimedia if one wants to see what it's all about. I haven't watched it myself but someone at work keeps saying how good it is so maybe I'll check a few out.
I had to look up the meaning behind chopped liver.
Because of its unusual taste and gray appearance, it is an acquired taste and not a favorite or comfort food with everyone at the dinner table. This has given rise to the popular Jewish-American expression "What am I, chopped liver ?", signifying frustration or anger at being ignored on a social level.
So what's the verdict?Aslanna wrote:I haven't watched it myself but someone at work keeps saying how good it is so maybe I'll check a few out.
I just watched season 1, episode one. It does take a few episodes for them to work out the kinks. The second episode gets more into the flow of things and is a better example of what the show's all about. Mark Wahlberg (Marky Mark!) was new to this and all the actors were rookies. The show progresses quite a bit over the first two seasons and there's definitely less rap music later on as transition music!
Just watched this week's episode. Ari's expressions during the lunch meeting with his client and Lloyd were hilarious. The rest of the episode was so so but the Ari/Lloyd storyline this week made the show.
BTW, the third and fourth seasons are in HD widescreen. I thought it odd that they didn't film Entourage in HD right from the start.

I caught a couple episodes a couple years ago while in Jersey City for work.
Now, after talking smack about how fucking retarded shows like this one are...well, I watched a few episodes of season 3 via Ondemand and actually dig the fucker.
Overall, it is not great, but it certainly has enough laughs to be worthwhile.
