Moss to the Packers?

Post by Bubba Grizz »

That's the rumor going around today. They say we signed him. I have mixed feelings about this but over all it is probably a good thing.

THANK GOD FOR FAVRE!!!

I would love to see someone for favre that is actually worth throwing too but it isn't likely to be Moss. First, Moss is set to make 10 million dollars this year. The Packers are notoriously tight-fisted and I doubt they would pony up that kind of money. Moss is even more unlikely to lower his salary. Second, the Raiders will probably want to high of a draft pick in compensation. A first rounder would be worth it if Moss salary was lower but not otherwise. A second rounder is really pushing it. A third is probably the max I would go.

So...Bret Favre's Hail Mary's won't get any more accurate but he'll have a receiver that can chase a few more of them down and bat a few more away from DBs waiting to pick them off!

Al Davis is a crazy motherfucker, so don't be so quick to dismiss this. He is perfectly willing to buy draft picks.

I can see him redoing Randy's contract with a huge signing bonus and a very reasonable salary, then immediately trading him to GB for their 1st round pick.

This makes perfect sense for the Raiders. They jettison Moss, are rumored to be signing Jeff Garcia. They take Calvin Johnson with the first pick, use GB;s pick to grab Quinn if he is available or leverage it to grab a lower first rounder and a second.....then grab O-line help.

Do you really think they'll make decisions that are this good?

For a 4th round pick.
He wasn't worth anything close to a 1st round pick.
He is even redoing his contract. He realizes this is the last chance to resurrect his career.
