Speaking of a bunch of Morons...
The City of Boston goes bugfuck over some blinky signs posted in high visibility areas. Total monetary losses as a result will be in the millions BPD says their response cost $500,000 and of couse massive traffic delays etc will add up. So the terrorists seem to be winning.
The same signs were posted in 9 other cities without incident. Boston DA is making noise about boycotting Williams St and Turner...So yanno I'm gonna make a point of buying some Aqua Teen Hunger Force product even though I'm not particularly a fan. Though Turner should probably be held liable for fines if they were posted in post no bills areas...

Maybe it was the placement of the devices that triggered concern?Arborealus wrote:The City of Boston goes bugfuck over some blinky signs posted in high visibility areas. "The first device reported was at the Sullivan Square commuter rail station, near the suburb of Somerville, Wednesday morning. Wednesday afternoon, four other devices were reported -- near the Longfellow and Boston University bridges over the Charles, at New England Medical Center and near the intersection of Stuart and Columbus avenues in the city itself, and four more turned up over the course of the day."

Funny, it looks like a fucking battery operated lite-brite to me.it contains components that are consistent with an imporvised expolsive device

So what's more frightening?
The fact that these things have been up for almost 3 weeks before someone noticed or said something, or that it cose "at least $750,000 in police costs" to take down one of these lite-brite devices?

Someone should hang some old motherboards or hard dives in similar locations to see if these bomb squad morons can tell the differecne between a bomb and a piece of junkCartalas wrote: Maybe it was the placement of the devices that triggered concern?

I dunno know about you but if I am a terrorist I don't put bright lights on a bomb and stick it in the open for everyone to see. I hide it so it goes off before it is noticed...Cartalas wrote:Maybe it was the placement of the devices that triggered concern?Arborealus wrote:The City of Boston goes bugfuck over some blinky signs posted in high visibility areas. Gnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. That reminds me of the time I was playing Scene It: Movies with some friends. We had to guess the movie according to the images it showed us. The first picture was a flux capacitor and I belt out "BACK TO THE FUTURE!". Everyone just looked at me like I was crazy. I told them what it was but I think that made things worse.Truant wrote:flux capacitor?

Truly, the terrorists have already won.
How did people get this stupid?

My understanding of these types of 'guerrilla marketing' is that independent companies who do this (like in this incident) tend to avoid the permitting process, as the fines are less costly than the permits (hey that is smart legistlation!!).
One would also suspect that a major media company would require an agency to indemnify them against all claims resulting from the actions of such agency that might result in litigation.

Yeah, I heard part of the interview on NPR on my way home tonight. If anything, they need to learn not to piss off the press. Hair and the 70s? Like that has any relevance whatsoever.
Regardless, if I see one of those in Atlanta, it's going in my office.

they were all looted before the Police even found them. According to press reports, Turner told the police where they might be (50 locations) and they weren't in any of them.Vaemas wrote:Yeah, I heard part of the interview on NPR on my way home tonight. No, I mean, it might as well be a part of Dallas. For your personal edification, it is possible to input ² by using your ALT key and your keypad numerals. To do this, hold down either the left or right ALT key. While holding down the ALT key, enter 0 1 7 8 on your numeric keypad. No, regular numbers won't cut it. It's a Window's thing. Once input, release the ALT key.Dregor Thule wrote:For him, that's the E=mc^2 (I don't know how to do the small 2!) of arguments.

Jesus fucking Christ. You don't make any sense at all. Do you just spew out random words hoping you accidently make a witty comment? I'd take the time to explain how it doesn't make sense but I think you are too god damn stupid to coprehend.Cartalas wrote:Or the fact you need to be grudge fuckedLynks wrote:At the fact he still doesn't know the difference between then and than?Arborealus wrote:Somewhere a third grader reading this just said, "Burrrrnnnnnnn."Cartalas wrote:Well its easier then you passing up a buffet.Dregor Thule wrote:For him, that's the E=mc^2 (I don't know how to do the small 2!) of arguments.
