Has anyone tried out the Crackdown demo yet? Supposedly it set some sort of record for most downloads.

I bet that's because of the email that they sent out saying that playing the Crackdown demo could win you a Halo3 Beta spot.

I tried it last week. Demo was a bit short for my taste but the game does show some potential.

Think of it as GTA, except you're on the Law's side and you don't erally have to care if civilians get hurt or not.

Oh and eventually, as you take out gang bangers, you get more proficient in different categories like Driving, Agility, Strength etc until you reach quazi-super-hero abilities.

The art in the game is pretty decent as well. Looks like a 3d/cell shaded look.

Apparently online play will feature 2-player co-op through the main story a la Gears as well.

It will most likely end up being a rental for me though. As a bonus, you get into the Halo3(Not a draw for me since I'm not a huge Halo fan to begin with) beta if you buy Crackdown apparently.

*Edit* Oh and for the record, I did actually have fun playing the game. Just not enough fun for me to go out and spend 69.99$ cdn for it.

Actually, not playing the crackdown demo. If you buy Crackdown, you get a code to get into the beta. So I reserved Crackdown, but downloaded the demo to see if the game was decent, because im not a big enough Halo fan to buy a game I don't like just to get a beta code for halo.

The only other way to get into the beta is to play 3+ hours of Halo 2 multiplayer online bettween feb 1st and 3rd, then be one of the first 14,444 people to go to the website on feb 5th(I may be a tad bit off on dates and numbers but it's close.) I have to imagine that the 14,444 number will be met in the first 10 minutes of that day.

On topic with the post, I will download the demo for graw2. I read the review in game informer a few months ago and they made it sound like the second coming of christ so it must be decent.

It's too bad recycling bullshit doesn't do a thing for the environment or else you'd be Al Gore's best friend.

It's nice when the demos are better than full release PS3 games and free downloads after a week to boot.

Is it anyone's fault but your own that the only use XBL to download demos, and not to play games online, download other media, download game content updates, etc- Not to mention having it be in a good user friendly format.

Oh wait, you are just trying to be an obnoxious bitch because a couple of people with 360's are continuously making valid points about what a failure the PS3 is.. GOOD JOB KOOKY!!!1!

It's funny you mentioned this. I was reading the blog post over at PA today and Tycho was raving (in his own unique way) about it.

haha I love watching all fucking tards get all bent out of shape when you get counter-trolled.

Great points you all brought up. No really! Now let me just check. Nope, you STILL HAVE TO PAY MONEY TO DOWNLOAD DEMOS.

The only difference is we, in this case we = the other posters on this thread and not imaginary friends like with your version of "we", have valid counterpoints.

It will probably ease up now that you've finally cracked and I can watch you make a fool of yourself attempting to blatantly flame threads like your garden variety net troll.

Jesus fucking Christ. Can't we have a fucking GRAW 2 thread without you whining about what fucking platform it's on?

Here's a hint, moron. If you're not happy for a service you're paying for, DON'T PAY FOR IT. Zero sympathy from the rest of the world. Go cry yourself to sleep on a pillow. If you're not paying for it, bully for you1

Just for the record, I don't own or care about either console. To me they're no different than the last generation and I really don't get the exciting new console religious wars.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

are you posting in the right thread? or are you just practicing at asserting yourself without looking like a clown again?

I use Xbox live to test demos, which mostly go above and beyond, to determine which game I am gonna pick up next from Blockbuster. I have the 1game out at a time endless rental thing.

I reccomend it highly, the rental program. I have a Wii and 360, so plenty to choose from at the store. They still carry all the Xbox and Gamecube games as well.
I probably gave you virtual items once upon a time...
