I'm guessing that you're more partial to beating them over the head with a club and dragging them away by the hair to show interest?Sylvus wrote:My apologies, I should have formatted that better. It should have read:Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:To me she is. Different strokes for different folks.

I think the entire HEROES cast is aesthetically pleasing but if forced to choose based solely on appearance, I'd go for Morena as well. Hopefully Firefly isn't influencing my opinion!Animalor wrote:Morena Baccarin beats her hands down in my books.
If considering them as the characters they portray, I suppose Clair would be fun if you were into S&M, Niki (Alter Ego Girl) would be unsettling, Simone (Tawny) would be a bad choice if you were into drugs, and Inara (Morena) would be great if you sucked in bed as she's trained well to fake it.

I just find that an odd thing to say about a looking at a picture of someone you've never met. Had it been "My pants get tighter just looking at her" I would completely understand it. I guess I forgot about the lyrical qualities of the romantic poetry through which Midnyte normally expresses himself.

I finally got around to watching 1-12.
I don't have a problem with slow character development but some things seem to be dragged out too much. The Niki/Micah/DL arc I could totally do without. It doesn't seem connected to anything else going on in the show other than the brief Linderman/Petrelli escapade in Vegas. Maybe near the end of the season it will begin to tie in but as it is now it's honestly just boring me to tears. I simply don't care about these people at all.
Linderman is mentioned a lot but at this time he's still an enigma. We've never even seen him. It's always just been his agents. So I'm thinking there's a reason for that. That will probalby be one of the big 'surprises' they throw out near the end of the season.
Eden... Definitely a bad 'do on this girl. But I don't think she looked "too innocent." That kinda fits with the persuasive power that she had. There's no need for the character to look "rougher" when she could basically get whatever she wanted just by using her Jedi mind tricks.
I'm a bit confused as to how Sylar was 'captured' again. How could he not get out with the window to his holding area being broken? He could have just ran out especially while having a gun. But when we see him in the next episode he's back laying on the bed in the cell thing and looking not so good.
I'm still not certain how Charlie died. Ok, the first time she got the top of her head sliced off. Fair enough. But then Hiro goes back in time and she tells him about her condition and that she is dying. Is that what killed her on the 'do-over' or did Sylar get to her again? Because near the end of episode 11 Ando says "Hiro lost a friend. The brain man killed her."
Finally, about he brain wiping thing. On the individual level it would be possible but overall it would just seem to cause more issues especially in something like a high school setting. Sure Zach lost his memories and believed Claire hadn't talked to him since the 6th grade. But everyone else in the school knows differently and it would come back just to raise more questions.
Overall I don't think I could watch this show weekly simply based upon the slow pace. I'd have to watch them all at once. Or at least split into two chunks. Mid-season then end-season. And by slow pace I think I mean simply based on all the different characters involved. Hard to give much storytime to any one subplot each week. However, watching these in marathon fashion sort of exposes you to a lot of the inconsistencies and raises a bunch of questions. Drawn out week by week I don't think that would be as noticeable.
And seriously the overuse of the "Save the cheerleader, save the world" mantra was getting to be above annoying. That's been said since what, episode 3? We get it already! (Ok, guess it was episode 5. Still too many!)
Spoiler tags.. Maybe we need a page three rule. After a thread hits the third page (101 posts) spoiler tags are optional. I stayed away from this thread previous to this because I hadn't seen the show. I think it's basically just common sense that when a thread starts getting that many posts that spoilers will be strewn about.
And yes Midnyte is obviously trolling. I'd say just ignore him but then someone will come back with "But it's fun". But is it really? I didn't think so. Let sleeping trolls lie.

When you do the same show nightly for enough years, the audience starts to be able to follow along.Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:Hmm, I'm here talking about Heroes and you two bring up this shit. I think that makes you trolls. Thanks for ruining another thread for me with your bullshit.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
Read those comic books that winnow keeps linking. The one that pertained to this one happens to be the only one I've read, but they ran in immediately and shot him up with tranquilizer. (yeah, kinda gay you have to follow along with a comic)Aslanna wrote: I'm a bit confused as to how Sylar was 'captured' again. She had a blood clot in her head so there was no point in saving her, she would have died anyways.I'm still not certain how Charlie died. Ok, the first time she got the top of her head sliced off. But yeah, I agree with you on the Micah/DL/Jessica thing, it's getting old. It was fun at the start, but it better get relevant soon.

I think the big build up with the Jessica thing is that it makes you wonder how she will turn out. Will she inevitably be a bad guy, or will she play a part in saving the world? We all know that practically everyone in the show will play a part in the explosion, the question is how. It may get old from time to time, but i still think it is vital to the story, maybe not at this point, but can they bring in 3 new characters with power at the same time the moment they become useful? But yeah, I agree with you on the Micah/DL/Jessica thing, it's getting old. And a clip of them here and there wouldn't give you enough information on them that you would desire. Every character in this show has a meaning, and as each episode unfolds you start to learn their meanings.
In my opinion, i think Jessica just became relevant to the story with the end of the last episode. I think she does something that will involve Linderman. She could possibly be our answer to "who is linderman."

My roommate keeps asking "Is Linderman the 'bad guy'?" I'm not sure how to answer that one, keeping in mind that it's all speculation. Is there "a" bad guy? Do you think Linderman and Sylar are in cahoots somehow? Why does Linderman keep having all the items that are of relevance to the heroes?
I wonder what will happen if emo boy runs into Jessica/Nikki? Will he develop a crazy split personality? Will that have something to do with the explosion? It seems unlikely at this point, as there's only a few weeks until the bomb goes off, and I don't know how soon Jessica/Nikki will be freed/break out of jail.

I think Linderman will turn out to be some form of opposition to Claire's dad's outfit.
Horn-Rimmed Dad guy looks to be working for The Man and trying to control the people with powers but offering little in the way of moral judgement.
Linderman maybe just wants power and to exploit these people. Or perhaps something else? Maybe he was keeping tabs on Shankar's work as well as buying Isaac's painting and collecting ancient artifacts relating to possible old-school H E R O E S . . ?

Then they're doing a crappy job of it. At least from my perspective. I gave up long ago wondering how that story turns out. Good or bad? I thought it was partially that, and partially him being around too many heroes at once and overloading. Or at least I feel like they said that at some point.Zamtuk wrote:I got the impression that emo boy blows up due to that one guy out in Nevada that was sitting in a shanty blowing his hands up.

I'm sure the story will come together but I mentioned awhile back that the Niki/Jessica storyline seemed detached and very slow.Aslanna wrote:Then they're doing a crappy job of it. Can't let that drag down the rest of the show!
The Jan 22 episode was a little slow as well as they tried to reintroduce the characters somewhat for new viewers. It doesn't help that Clair has to do the same things over to try and regain her friend after his mind wipe. The mind reading cop storyline needs to start moving again as well. We've seen him in Mr Bennett's presence being blocked a few times now. Time for a change in his storyline.
All is forgiven as long as the story takes off again next episode!

They've hinted at both. At the beginning of the last episode, we are told by Peter's brother that he was mumbling about "absorbing too many powers" before he passed out.
Later in the episode.. during Peter's vision of New York, he is talking to his brother and says something along the lines of "I absorbed his power.... but I can't control it.". But, the vision doesn't show the radioactive man anywhere
At the end of this nuclear explosion deal, I forsee the brother overcoming his denial of his abilities, picking up peter, and flying him out to the ocean or whatever to explode. And also, the mind-reader guy happened to be kayaking nearby and is instantly vaporized so I never have to endure another of his scenes.
I TOLD YOU ID SHOOT! BUT YOU DIDNT BELIEVE ME! WHY DIDNT YOU BELIEVE ME?
Nice to see HEROES still doing well in the ratings:
NBC's "Heroes" triumphs over Fox's "24", again
Monday's ratings battle between Jack Bauer's "24" and NBC's "Heroes" ended much as the first, with another win for the Peacock. "Heroes" beat "24" head to head, but "24," along with a stronger performance from "Prison Break," helped Fox to eke out a win for the night in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary data released Tuesday

The Hiro scenes in this weeks episode were a mess.
- So they get to the car in NYC at around 10:45 am....they see the guy with the gun and start to run, only to see a black chev van pull up. <cut>
- Next scene they are under a truck.. huh? how? when? what happened?
- Truck pulls away, same chev van pulls around the corner. They get Ando and eventually Hiro <cut>
- Next scene a different van(Dodge Sprinter i think.. it was tall) comes squealing around a corner with some sort of vegetation on the bumper/grille. I assume they are inside.
- Cut to van interior and some uneventful conversation <cut>
- Next scene it's dark... like the middle of the night and theres a skyline pan of NYC. Van pulls up to meet mystery man. Short cliffhnager conversation follows.
So how the hell did they blow 10+ hours driving around in NYC?
When and why did they switch vans (twice)?
What's with the crap that was on the front of van number 2?
Why was that storyline so poorly chopped and edited to death while other storylines got way too much screentime (Parkman)?
What was the deal with the talk of extinction with Claire and her dad?
He said something about not mentioning it to "your mom"... this was after he noticed the chimes and made that oddball comment earlier about "you two used to be best friends" (in regards to Zach).
Is he on to the fact that her memory wasn't wiped and that she's been talking to the hatian? Maybe that she's tracked (or is tracking) down her real mother?
Red herring maybe.
*note*
There are 20+ Gordons in Kermit. Texas.
Parkman and his annoying wife.
Not that anyone really cares, but I bet the kid isn't even his.
Could Claires father be Linderman?

The storytelling was absolute shit last week. I was disappointed that the only good part was the last 10ish minutes of it. I am starting to think that Mr Bennett has some powers. I don't see him dying next week, as that would be too soon and he is too mysterious for that to happen. If that does happen, this show really needs new writers. And also the comment he made to Claire about being around whether she was 16, 32, or 64, was a bit strange too.
Fuck Parkman btw. Why did they make his leaky drain a focal point of the this week's plot?

dulce et decorum est
I caught many of the same things as miir about Ando / Hiro and was like.. WTF? It was definitely a sloppy episode for the most part.
I also don't think the baby is Parkmans but instead that other guy she was messing around with. Not that I think it matters one way or the other. I hope it's not because they already have too much unnecessary drama in this series.
'Emo boy' only shares the powers while in close proximity and they fade fast when the other person moves away.. I doubt coming into contact with Nikki/Jessica would really have any drastic effect and nothing long-lasting.
The thing with the chimes didn't really make much sense. When he saw them they made it seem like he knew exactly what they meant. Which I find hard to believe he would know because otherwise the Haitian guy wouldn't have used that as a signal to meet.
And they introduced yet another character.. Personally I feel they have enough for now. Just get on with the story already!

I liked this episode overall.
-I like Parkman's character but his storyline is stagnant and all of his scenes this week could have been reduced to one without any loss to the show. They just need to get him involved and focused on something again.
-I don't mind new characters being introduced. 'Human Torch' powers are always cool so Clair's mom should be a fun character.
-I'm not impressed with the new mentor of Peters yet.
-The Jessica storyline improved a little this episode. Her husband's visit to the mental ward was cool. Mika finally doing something interesting was a nice change as well.
-I liked all the cliffhangers this week. Hiro's dad is played by Mr Sulu of Star Trek fame in case someone didn't recognize him.
-We still haven't seen the hero introduced from the comics that can comunicate with electronics.
-Peter is slightly annoying as is his brother at this point in the story. I don't see a reason for them to be fighting...unless his brother knows a lot more about the situation than he's letting on...which I think he does and may end up being a semi bad guy in cahoots with Linderman.
With the cliffhangers introduced this chapter, I'm looking forward to the next show although the story needs to gain a little focus and we need a little more info thrown our way so we at least have a clue what's going on.
-I think next episode we'll find out Mr Bennett has powers of his own.

Nay, but his powers seem similar. The other Hero can, for instance, call you up on your cell phone without having a cell phone or send you a text message just by using their powers.
It seems very similar to Mikas which made me wonder why they would add a hero like that.

the episode this week was just awful. hopefully tonight's will be good. This emo drama shit needs to stop right fucking now
The Hiro and Ando shit is just going everywhere, its like the writers cant decide on a direction so they just take turns every week. they need to tie shit up.
Still sick of Parkman. Getting sick of Nikki (although I want to know whether Jessica is actually part of her superpower, or if its just a secondary condition). The kids power is a little too vague for me.
it was just a boring episode.. the delivery of all the shockers was mostly lame compared to what they've done in the past. Hiro's dad... Claire's mother... what the fuck ever.. I just dont care for some reason. They introduced them too early I guess.. I hardly care about the main characters enough to give a shit about their families.
the scene with sylar actually being alive etc.. that was probably the most boring, cliche way they could have done it. I was really hoping that he was demonstrating that he did, in fact, steal Eden's powers and was in control of the doctor as he was on the phone with Bennet.. instead they just did the whole eyes-open-closeup like every fucking B zombie movie ever made.

Nikki/Jessicas release was too sudden to be anything but stupid.
I guess Linderman has complete control of Nevada. The penal system. The judicial system. Law Enforcement. Traffic cops. Crosswalk Nannies.
But I seems she finally stepped over to the dark side for good....or at least predomanitely. Nikki will still fight to get out, but Jessica is pretty much in control now.
The upcoming Muhindar/Sylar union will be interesting.
I like the fact that Claires mom is starting to break thru the mind blocks. Makes her an actual character instead of a brainless twit.
Sulu has to play a bigger role than what he portrayed in these previous 2 episodes. Why would they bring in the big name just be an overbearing dad to Hiro.

It was kinda cool seeing Mr Sulu but what point did it play in the big story other than filler? The whole mini-storyline seemed like it was tacked on after the fact. The Hiro and Ando shit is just going everywhere, its like the writers cant decide on a direction so they just take turns every week. they need to tie shit up.

I thought it was "tonight WE'LL meet her daddy". I didn't see that one coming at all, Petrelli sure likes to dip his wick! Good superpower to have for a promiscuous guy like that, can keep chicks all over and fly over for a quickie.Aslanna wrote:I thought the intro claiming "Tonight she'll meet her daddy" was a bit lame since.. Oh I don't know.. She didn't actually meet him or anything. What's up with the false advertising!

Why in the hell didn't Sylar kill Mr. Bennett? It really seemed out of character for him *not* to kill him after all the bullshit and confinment Mr. Bennett put him through. Thats extremely sloppy, not that other episodes weren't sloppy too, but the writers really need to think about shit like that and write the episodes better.
Shit like that is making the show go downhill in a big way.

I still have the feeling that the Politician is bad.
Now that we know he's Clair's father, it makes me wonder if he knew about his powers long before he flew out of the car during the accident that resulted in his wife's paralysis. If he did know about his powers, he could have at least grabbed her as well before flying out of the car.
We also must wonder if Clair's mom (accidentally) started the fire that she thought had killed Clair...if so, she doesn't seem to concerned about it now.
Hiro's friend Ando didn't fare well with Hiro's sister. Not even a hug!
So....when it comes to Hero breeding:
Flying + Fire = Regeneration
