So apparently warrantless spying wasn't really critical?
Fuck you, that's either the worlds thinnest troll or you really are so fucking stupid you can't walk and chew gum at the same time. Either way, I'm just going to stick with the laughing at your ignorance from here on out.

See, that's much more fun and has the same effect as bothering to engage you, or any other lower order primate, in a debate.

Throwing him a piece of pipe joint with peanut butter smeared on the inside is probably good entertainment too. Yeah. Why engage in a true conversation? Just call me names and use vulgarities.Zaelath wrote:LOL, fuck you.Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:Wow. Well said. Because you have proven over and over that you are incapable of logic. Your belief that we are safer since 9/11 while terrorism all over the world is on a dramatic rise and the Bush policy continues to pump up more hate and rage towards America is the absolute epitome of ignorance.Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:Yeah. The big picture includes the entire world does it not? Just because American soil has not been penetrated does not mean we are fucking safer. IT'S THAT FUCKING SIMPLE.
So what is the fucking point at trying to debate with someone who cannot grasp simple logic?
Better just to make fun of your stupidity, IMHO.

No, I'm sorry. The original point of the conversation, in which I am incapable of having, was why some of the things the "US" government have done have made the US safer. The topic wasn't about the world right now.Xyun wrote:Because you have proven over and over that you are incapable of logic. What you have done is find a new way to call me stupid and change the entire point of the conversation to do so. But, it's me who's stupid. I understand now. Thanks.

Just curious, how does it feel to be on the other end of it this time?Midnyte wrote:What you have done is find a new way to call me stupid and change the entire point of the conversation to do so. But, it's me who's stupid.
Oh that's right, your standards that you try to hold everyone else to don't apply to yourself.

My bad, I was looking at the big picture. Didn't realize the conversation was limited to circumstances that make your arguments valid.

His argument isn't valid even if you only look at the US and not the world at large. If we look at the past rate of attacks on US soil we see that the only thing that changed with 9/11 was the degree of success, where as before then that had only small degrees for success or outright failure. As far as I can recall the last attack inside the US was in 1993, that's 8 years before 9/11. So saying things are better now because there hasn't been an attack in 5 years, is just faulty logic.
I will also say this Mid. What makes our country great is our freedom, if we must give up our freedom in order to save our country, then perhaps the country isn't worth saving. Whether the country is destroyed because of attacks or invading forces, or the people of the country voluntarily giving up their freedoms, it is destroyed none the less. Our freedoms, and our valuation of those freedoms are what define our country. To give those things up is to give up the essence of what the US is and is supposed to represent.

Is the world safer now? Data suggests that this is not the case based upon the rise in large scale international terrorist attacks in the last five years. In the same five year period prior to 9/11, the number of international terrorist attacks was dramatically lower worldwide.
For reference, these include Bali (10/12/2002), Mombasa (11/28/2002), Riyadh (5/12/2003), Cassablanca (5/16/2003), Jakarta (8/5/2003), Istanbul (11/13-20/2003), Baghdad/Karbala (3/2/2004), Madrid (3/11/2004), Beslan (9/1-3/2004), Taba (10/7/2004), London (7/7/2005), Sharm El-Sheik (7/23/2005), Amman (11/9/2005), Mumbai (7/11/2006), and Athens (1/12/2007). Strictly speaking only one of these (15) was on American soil.
