Where the hell is this thing!?

No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

Shaman Spell: Primal Essence. I have not seen this spell for sale at all. Drops in SSra apparently. Is it rare as hell? Does it sell for some ungodly sum when a copy actually surfaces?

Its a fairly rare drop in ssra at least. Only seen a couple on our last half dozen assorted raids there. On the other hand nobody else in ixtlan or legion needs it anymore so youre next up. :)

I'd give you my cursed Hammer of the Dragonborn with the Primal Essence Effect.

10 second cast time, 2H weapon you need to swap and put away your shield/primary weapon to cast...stats suck on hammer so you won't be wielding it othewise....spell lasts 20 mins or less.

PE and the hammer is hell. PE spell is only slightly less hellish with its short duration.

Duration of this spell needs to be lengthened to 60 mins

Just get your guild primal, and your problem is solved!

yea, but for each melee that has primal, that's one less person you have to worry about casting PE on most likely. Then the annoying spell is only needed for casters.

There's also that group PE hammer from that burrower in Acrylia I think.

Here's some retro shots of the huge Hammer of the Dragonborn. I had to drag this monstrosity out each time someone needed PE and then every 20 minutes after that for another round of 10 second casts.

If EQ had a '70's era, this outfit belonged to it.

Eep! Plenty of reason to stay in DE form:

Not to sure on this, but i think PE stacks with anything, including avatar.
Kinda like the mage DS diamond staff from VP also stacks with about every DS/Resist buff

Heya Lusc,

I wouldn't worry too much about PE and the Avatar line of spells. They aren't that terribly important. Hell, I don't even have PE myself and that doesn't slow me down.

Just get your barfbarian ass to 65 first, the rest will fall into places... :)

As for Torpor, Pox, etc, I'll help keep a look out for ya as well...

Later,

PE doesn't stack with Avatar. PE also has stacking issues with Agility buffs and some other buffs. It's desired mostly for the +20 Stamina.

If I am not mistaken I think they fixed the stacking problem of PE and PA.

I'll have to check it out though and make sure.

Seen it for sale about 3 times. First one I bought for my shaman for 5k. Other two times i've seen it for 55k and 35k.

Fash's info on where it drops sounds right from memory. I've seen it drop 3 times I think.

It's a nice spell imo, but it ain't gonna break you to not have.

P.S. - F U to those selling Torpor for 65k+!!!! *grumble*

For all the hundreds of juggs we killed, we never had level 60 shaman spells drop. Only off the Kunark boss type guys. Not that restricting it to o-so-hard Overking Bathezid makes it harder, just something that pissed me off when I counted up how many mage pet spells we had on gimps from jugg farming.

We got torpor/malo a couple times from sebby protector and Jumpy back when I was in RoS.
Never saw them from any of the other juggs.

Checked Lucy and it says PE and PA don't stack.

jumpy and prot both drop lvl 60 sperls more often than not, correct?

but apparently, that is the most useful aspect of VP is that you get a decent number of lvl 60 kunark spells

Guardian wurms in SF drop 60 kunark spells also, though not as common as in VP.

I've seen a couple torpors drop during the eternal RF camps we used to endure.

It drops of shaman mystics and for those that havent lived and breathed ssra.....

Mystic is a rare (very rare) spawn in many spawn locations, not just those behind locked doors, although I only remember specifically seeing them on 2nd floor. They drop PE or (that group shaman seeing buff thing). They always drop one of the two when they spawn.

Ssra was pretty decent exp pre-PooP if you stayed out of the mines. Almost as good as CT IMO.
