Help me out, Winnow!

Post by Leonaerd »

My goal here is to play my Playstation Two (not Three) on my computer monitor. I don't know if you need computer specs, but I have an 8800 GTS and a Viewsonic 19" CRT (P95f+). I'm looking for useability and size of device as the main sellers here, and of course, price. Thanks! Ideally I'd like to use my headphones for audio, as well.

I looked into that quite a while ago.

I couldn't find a solution that would give acceptable image quality.

Same here. I looked into that and didn't find a solution that worked well.

There's something out there but it's expensive (~$200.00 I think) and doesn't look good.

I can't say it looks great (as TV display is a significant resolution drop from what we're used to on PC), but when I want to play, I just plug my console into the S-Video in on my 21" Dell LCD and feed the audio into my line in on the PC (you need a <$10 RCA to 3.5mm stereo adapter from Radio Shack unless your audio card comes with the ability to accept RCA inputs).

Well, fuck. My headphones don't travel far enough for me to conceivably use the television at night (which is why I wanted this device in the first place), and wireless headphones aren't really a priority right now. Oh well.

spend the $3 at radio shack and get an extender for your headphones.

If you do go wireless, get the Logitech Freepulse headphones I reviewed here! They work great.
