Small News from New York

Post by dibit_eq »

Haven't heard much on this, but i thought it was a nice change of pace from the typical "so and so was killed" and "your political party is crap" types of news.

Link

Some guy witnesses another person go into seizures on a subway platform in NYC. While convulsing apparently the guy fell in front of an oncoming train. The man witnessing this apparently dove on top of the convulsing man and pinned him down, keeping both from getting run over by the train.

Not getting a lot of press from what i've seen so far, but i figured i'd share it with the current events section. [/url]

They interviewed that subway guy on CNN. he's a fucking angel on top of everything else. you can tell he has just an awesome disposition that wasn't forced at all. the shot with the father of the kid he saved was quite touching.

I can imagine myself jumping down to save someone who fell on a track, but not when a train is obiously coming at high speed only a few dozen meters away. it is just so entirely selfless.

I saw that on CNN. Kickass! Someone get that man a medal and some high-quality tail.

apparently donald trump cut him a check for 10 grand just for being a mack daddy. and the place he works at gave him scholarships for his kids or something.

it's nice to see this kind of shit on the news. I find it a lot more interesting than a bunch of talking heads bleating about how unsafe your children are.

You're speaking truth Kyo. This is a wonderful derailment from the norm.

He was on David Letterman a few nights back, I'm sure the interview would be online if you checked. He was really nervous and adorable, and just listening to him talk I kept thinking, "You jumped in front of a train to save someone." He was telling a story about how the man was having a seizure, and he had to tell the man to "please stop moving, because I may get caught under the train." He just seemed so calm, it was inspiring to listen to him speak.

Wow, I can honestly say that I wouldnt have did that in his position. I would probably freeze up. What an amazing human being, complete selflessness.
