Cause they're lining up in in big numbers to get Blue Dragon and the 360.

Man...those sales people have to wear uber geeky sweater vests!

Even if those consumers are doing the same thing I'll be doing with the PS3 (buying it for one game), it's nice to see! If Epic could mod Gears of War to include a female anime model instead of Fenix as the main character and add a few tentacles to the monsters, they might have a shot at introducing shooters to the Japanese as well.

Apparently the excitement was only at that one store.

Brian Ashcraft from Kotaku did a writeup of what was going on at another store and reports a different story altogether.

Gamers here seem much more interested in a new Gundam game from Sega for the PS2..

Time will tell I guess.

Wow, did you read that whole picture/story? That guy seems like a dick. Read the part where he gets into a confrontation with the staff.

He should have clocked the japanese fella! :D

Or lifted him up and done some curls with him, how much could he have weighed, 140 lbs?

Now learn how to treat your customers! Or i'll do 20 more reps!

I don't know about you but if I went into any store and any country and got hassled for bullshit like that, I would have waved my money in their face and told them that they wouldn't be getting any of it.

Retail clerks aren't paid to hassle customers, they are paid to help people spend their money.

They're paid to help the majority of the people spend their money and if one asshole is upsetting the other customers (pending how things work in Japan) then you get rid of the one asshole and take the rest of the customers money. Just because the other people weren't complaining doesn't mean they weren't irritated. Per their culture, they were most likely just keeping it to themselves thinking, "What a gaijin asshole. I'm going to some other store next time!"

How exactly would writing something down on a piece of paper upset other customers?

The other people in there store were more than likely embarrased that the clerk was hassling another customer for doing something so trivial as writing something on piece of paper while in the store.

I think it's cute how you try so vigorously to discredit anyone who dares write anything negative about your beloved 360.

It's like you take it personally.

The fella could be writin down grocery-stores and whatnot for all i care, as a retailclerk in the service business you don't scare away the customers, you make them stay and purchase more.

Disturbing the customers my ass, his confrontation disturbed the customers more than a lone fella writing down shit in a lil piece of paper.

It was not like he screamed "TRUSSELORT" each time he wrote something down, now THAT would be disturbing.

I would have reacted the same way as the fella if not worse if a retailclerk would disturb me like that.

Can't write down shit on paper my ass, i'll send you face first down in a trashcan, how's that for disturbing!

I can't say there's ever been a time where someone I don't know writing on a piece of paper has discouraged me from making a purchase. Maybe if the guy was taking pictures one after another like some sort of X-box patron paparazzi on crack, I'd probably get annoyed, but I highly doubt that was the case. The article's author said it best:
"What are we doing now? We're disturbing customers. And all because of you," I say.
There was no disturbance until the employee went into dick-mode.
Do unto others what has been done to you.

Nobody frikkin' CARES about a fella writin' down shit on a piece of paper, not until a clerik makes a frikkin SCENE about it in the middle of the store!

Now THAT's a disturbance to other customers!

Clerk prolly had male PMS, had to try use his "authority" on someone because he had a pissy day, got told off by his Boss or somethin'

You can't prove that!

Look at how many pictures that dude took (and all pretty bad ones at that). I don't see too many people in stores in the U.S. snapping pictures inside a store and writing notes. I'm sure it was the excessive picture taking more than the note scribbling that was irritating. The people in line aren't smiling at him, they're probably thinking "get the fuck away from me you freak"

Microsoft does need to step up their clothing line. The Sega Staff jacket looks much better than the 360 one...but look how wrinkled the Sega women's coats are!
