The ousting of Saddam is the sole reason for the turmoil that is happenin now. There was better chance of something coming out of that region if you guys had just left it the fuck alone.

With western thinking we would hope the Iraqi people would take this chance to build a free country, but they are more concerned with trying to use the opprotunity to kill each other and at this point we should let them....of course that will lead to another Saddam or worse
They are concerned about the same thing as the people who ordered the invasion and occupation of Iraq.

I watched the two hour Koppel special on Iran as well. Some random comments:

The younger generation seem to like Americans or at least American products. The "America must die" chants were staged and unenthusiastic from the crowds.

I was surprised to see how much traffic is flowing into Iraq from Iran.

When a common worker was asked if the United States was a threat he said, "How would I know? I'm illiterate."

30 cent gas, subsidized bread and air travel are the few positives.

Having coffee with a member of the opposite sex earns you a couple days in jail.

The word "women" is filtered from the internet. wow.

The show was very well done in HD. Koppel did a nice job of trying to gather as many interviews and film footage as he could with the limited access he had. Well worth watching. It's not going to sway your opinion either way but it will give you a better idea of what Iran is like than the nightly news.
