Hey folks -
Looking for the equavlent of 'AVS Forums' but for Digital Cameras.
Wife has decreed that the shutterlag of our current camera is a threat to world peace as we know it.
Basically shutterlag is probably critically important because we have 2 small kids, and 0.5 seconds sounds like something that is fast, but that is a long time to a moving 3 year old!!
Thanks
Digital Camera resources/forums
I like http://www.dpreview.com a lot. The forums are fairly noisy but they have good reviews and other resources available. Not sure of any other similar sites as I don't have that much time to browse these days.

Hey Marb -
kind of leaning towards teh Canon Powershot SD700IS
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canonsd700is/
There is a new version out SD800 with the next round of Canon's image processor, but some of the comments i've read seem to be uncertain on how much better the 800 is than the 700 considering one is 30%+ more expensive.
It depends on what you personally want/need in the camera. I'd probably get the Canon G7 if I was the only one using it, but i want something that is very comfortable for my wife to use as well and she's not a nerd

i have the Canon Powershot SD630, and i love it. it's lightweight and cute. most of the pictures i take are regular shots are parties and stuff, but my fiance is a camera buff and he seems to like it too. no viewfinder though, but i find that the LCD is fine for what i use it for. and i love how the picture rotates when you rotate the camera in view mode.
I still have the Cannon Powershot S200 ELPH that I had way back at the EQ FanFaire. It's 2mp is the equivalent of owning a Wii if it was a console these days but the size and functionality is what makes it so good. When I upgrade again soon, I'll definitely consider another Cannon as an option.
The new Cannon Powershot models are sure to be good. Small enough to port around so you'll actually use it and from looking at the review you linked, it can still power up and take a quick picture with a fast shutter speed setting.
