Whose brain has been collected outside of a future that Painter and Hiro saw and everyone is intent on stopping happening?Winnow wrote:Hmmm, well all of these brains that are being taken from victims need to eventually show up somewhere unless Sylar is eating them.
How's this for a freaky episode...Clair the Cheerleader gets "killed" by Sylar and her brain is taken but Emoboy eventually finds it and gets close to her brain, somehow helping her to regenerate the rest of her body...or Emoboy's brain is taken and Clair gets close enough for Emoboy to regen his body back.
For the people that have read Warren Ellis' run on the New X-Men, there was a storyline where normal humans were organ farming mutant body parts and replacing their own organs with the mutant ones. I'm guessing that something similar is happening in Heroes and the brains being collected are either being used to enhance Sylar or other test subjects to give them powers or Sylar somehow sucks the powers from the brains of his victims.

None that I know of. I'm speculating about the future of the show.Zaelath wrote: Whose brain has been collected outside of a future that Painter and Hiro saw and everyone is intent on stopping happening?
Here's Heroes comic #5 which deals with AlterEgo's husband before he shows up at her place at the end of the last show.

Probably safe to say he's not Mindwipe guy or Sylar, and that he has Kitty Pryde type phase powers but no invisibility that has been evident so far.

Sylar =

http://imdb.com/name/nm0000293/
check #7 under his filmography
Here's some random thoughts about what may be going on..
I think DL was framed only because he was under the control of someone else. Maybe whoever bears the "S" symbol has had their mind fucked with like the telepath guy who's been captured. DL wore the symbol while in the bar and in the scene at the hospital(i do think that's him!). Maybe split personality girl has some strength that allows her to overpower the control for the most part, but not when her survival instincts kick in? Maybe when they fucked with her mind they botched the "operation" OR she can't be controlled because of her split personality power...
Also if DL can phase through shit, maybe that's why the evil foster father dude used him in the hospital room to fuck with the telepaths mind. He can do brain surgery without cutting people apart...?
Oh and also...if Sylar was the dude in the FBI headquarters who went after the telepath, maybe he was trying to get to him BEFORE the foster dad could? Could be that they are enemies- neither one necessarily worse than the other, but both want what the heroes have in their brains for different reasons?

You're a bit confused about DL and the man working with Mr. Bennet.Keverian FireCry wrote:I think DL was framed only because he was under the control of someone else. The man working with Mr. Bennet (the guy that was in the bar, and the hospital): http://imdb.com/name/nm1097515/
DL (Alter-ego's husband) is a completely different guy: http://imdb.com/name/nm0731346/
They're both black and bald. That's it. Two completely different characters.
Do unto others what has been done to you.

collecting brains is his modus operandi according to the FBI so he has done it often enough for that. They were either talking about it, or matt heard them thinking about it- i cant remember..
Also, the father that was frozen solid by Sylar also had his brain removed

Don't know if the show went over or what. but my tivo cut out when it wasn't quite finished. It looked like they had cut away from the action in vegas and were back at the painter's apt maybe? Anything else happen or look exciting in the previews?

Same thing happened to me Sylvus...and there were like 100 fucking commercials this episode. Is that normal? How can anyone watch network TV like that? I'm going to download every episode from the newsgroups from now on without the commercials. Commercial overload is totally irritating...even moreso that they can't keep the show within the hour timeslot for TiVo/DVR recording purposes....here's although..cut one of the fucking commercials out to make it fit.
Strange episode this week. Not sure I like the developments with AlterEgo girl.
Very little happened this episode which made it frustrating when combined with the buttload of commercials.
We found out elfgirl is a bad apple and AlterEgo girl is maybe more nuts than we first thought. The "cheerleader meets biological parents" could have been edited out of the series and not affected anything as long as her dad keeps doing shady things we know what's going on. Even the Hiro poker scenes was strange and seemed thrown in.
This episode made me miss the Telepath Cop and the Politician. AlterEgo's husband seems ok.
I expect a much better episode next week...and they need to slipstream their advertising into the show more (like the Nissan Car) instead of flood the show with commercials.

Although this episode was light on action and hero development, it was big on some subtleties. Mainly with Claires dad.
I don't know if hes going to be an evil character. He's very protective of Clair (which is the goal to saving the world. Save the cheerleader).
And the fact that he tried to find clairs parents when she was an infant will be a big part of his background. That search for her parents started him off on the whole "search out the powerpeople" kick hes on. Hes a researcher. Hes documenting the powers. Maybe hes having MindGuy implant "triggers" in them. Or maybe hes just erasing there memories of him. But hes not killing or harming the powerpeople. He'll use them.....for what ends, we dont know.
And his reaction when elfgirl told him about Hiros visit to Peter, "Now thats cool." is not the reaction of an evil overlord.
I'm still taking the wild stab in the dark that Syler is the Alter Ego of Muhindas dad.

Yeah, I got that impression too. When they were leaving and supposedly bio dad was like "Let me know if you need anything else" that led me to believe that they were just pretending.Lynks wrote:I don't think that was the cheerleader's bio parents. If this is true, then I think it is important. It shows her fake dad is trying to keep her away from meeting her real parents for a good reason (maybe they really do have powers too).
I thought the episode was pretty good, definitely left me wanting more. And I'm not sure if AlterEgo is bad or not. She certainly messes people up, but it seems more for trying to protect Nikki and Micah than for any nefarious purposes.

Ah, I thought that was pretty much a given. I should have said "fake" bio parents.Lynks wrote:I don't think that was the cheerleader's bio parents.
I'd like to see Clair go through a meat grinder or wood chipper. My curiosity is how much of he body is required to regenerate and which part regenerates? I'd assume it's her brain but even her brain was punctured by the stick so I'm just wondering the exact nature of her regen abilities.
They played creepy music when Clair and her dad were hugging after the "bio" parent visit so it looks like she's going to continue her research into her origin behind her father's back.
I like the AlterEgo lady storyline but she needs some meds. They're building up her alter ego to be one that only cares about herself and her son. If that's not controllable at all, then I don't see her value to the heroes unless someone figures out a way to at least control the Mr Hyde part a little bit. I also wonder how Hiro is going to feel about AlterEgo lady ripping apart bodies while he tries to take the high ground. Makes the show interesting though!

I think the Hiro part may hold a bit more weight later if / when he finds out who killed those people while he was in the other room. I am getting kind of annoyed by the amount of commercials and actual lack of development made in each show, but I am still liking it.Winnow wrote:Same thing happened to me Sylvus...and there were like 100 fucking commercials this episode. I would call killing 3-4 people and framing her husband for it pretty evil. It's not like that was an act of self preservation. I really didn't want her to be a villian, but it looks to be shaping up that way so far.Sylvus wrote:Yeah, I got that impression too. I really like DL so far, I think he will figure out what is going on with Nikki and try to help her later on.
I bet the cheerleaders search for her real dad leads her to Sylar, and then he tries to kill her. I wouldn't be surprised if Claire was taken from him somehow when she was a baby. And thats why he was trying to take that little girl, wanted to raise a super powered daughter that was taken from him.

She was tearing people in half and throwing them at doors with enough force to cause the door to crack, I'd say she already demonstrated having super strength
The part I found interesting was when Isaac wiped the green paint of the picture of alterego to reveal the tatoo. There's of course the obvious question of why was it covered up, but I think it was also his way of saying her side has been chosen and she's walking the path of the bad guys now, as if it had been up in the air until this point.

Well, a new guy was introduced. Inferno guy. And Mikah displayed a bit of his powers toward the end. And I love how Mikah knows everything about his psycho mom. First he confronts her about the internet porn. And this time he told alterego to put his mom on the phone. Good stuff from Mikah....accept for telling alterego where they were.
Did Infernoguy and mindguy have the same markings on there neck? the two dashes?

They need to stop introducing more characters and move on with the story line we alread have! I'm really enjoying this show, but I wish I had a whole box set I could sit down and watch all at once.
I wonder if Hiro is staying at the same hotel as DL and Micah... would be the easiest way for him to hook up with DL again. And WTF is Linderman doing with the painting? (Linderman= Claires dad?)

Hiro has the uncanny ability to always end up where other Heroes are.
I'm guessing this new Inferno/Radioactive guy is going to turn out to be a human atomic/nuclear bomb and is what the Heroes must prevent from exploding in New York.
Mikah's powers might be similar to Cypher's of the original New Mutants (X-Men ~1980's). He died pretty early in the series but his character had the ability to learn any laguage, including computer languages almost instantly and also was able to interact with computers. Hard to say from one hand touch to a pay telephone, but Mikah may have this ability.
Still a great show. It's slow to develop but the characters are doing all the side quests and leveling up instead of blowing through the storyline to the end game.

Yeah, they did. My guess is that that has something to do with being kidnapped by Claire's dad and whatever the mind-wipe guy does. Maybe some sort of mutant classification system, with the S type tattoo that AlterEgo has (and that mind-wipe guy's necklace) being another one.Homercles wrote:Did Infernoguy and mindguy have the same markings on there neck? the two dashes?
I don't think that's the case. Linderman is a mob boss, who appears to live in Vegas. Claire's dad lives in Texas. It just seems like that'd be too much of a stretch. Though Claire's dad knew where Senator Flyboy and Niki were sleeping, and Linderman set that up... there could be a connection between the two of them or something.Akanae wrote:And WTF is Linderman doing with the painting? The new comic featureing Mind-reading cop is up over at NBC.

"seven minutes to midnight"
Nice episode.
I like how they've been able to mix in comedy relief with Hiro and his friend while at the same time providing them with a serious role in the story.
This new waitress Hero twist is great. Hiro is in the birthday picture from the past that his friend hasn't noticed yet but now I'm wondering how it's going to play out with his friend...the paradox with time travel and changing the future is forcing an alternate reality so his friend is in a reality that should never have happened if Hiro successfully changed the future, but showing the picture on the wall of Hiro with the waitress means he's possibly in the same reality somehow.
Claire's dad doesn't seem totally bad and appears sincere about trying to save his foster daughter. Elf girl also seems to have a hint of goodness in her.
Being able to kill the waitress without being seen and being able to remove her brain that fast makes you wonder wtf Sylar's powers are.
Mohinder and the dream sequences need to start making sense soon. They've spent two or three episodes covering his wavering belief in his father's work...time to get him back on board.

They FINALLY brought in Muhindars dad. It gives a little weight to my Sylar theory by introducing him. Being the recognizable actor he is, I doubt its just a cameo appearance. But they did show Sylars hands. Were those a white mans hands...or could they have been Indian. And he was wearing a ring if I remember correctly.
And who is this dream kid? I know its the Docs first case study. He had the file hidden away in the locked drawer.
Apparently his daughter (muhindars sister) had powers. Does that mean Muhindar might have powers too? Could he be the dream child?
Another curious thing. Claire gets "killed" at Homecoming, tomorrow. Peter is supposed to save her. Does he teleport there? Does flyboy brother go with him so he can leech the power?
Will we even get to that moment soon or will the show follow Hiro back in time and stay with that storyline for a few weeks.

According to the file, the dream kid is / was his sister. Perhaps Muhindar is developing some sort of dream like awareness and can view past events.Homercles wrote:And who is this dream kid? I know its the Docs first case study. He had the file hidden away in the locked drawer.

She died when she was five. Dream kid was much older than that.
That kid is supposed to be a girl? I at first thought Mohinder was looking into his past and seeing himself as a boy. Since they are hinting that Mohinder's sister had powers, perhaps Mohinder has some sort of dream state powers that will become clearer.Morgrym wrote:According to the file, the dream kid is / was his sister. Lynks: great point about this being the part of the story where Hiro learns to speak english. Good call if the next time we see him, he's speaking fluent English and is married to, or the waitress' boyfriend. I'm confused as to how Hiro's friend can be aware of what's going on unless he warps into the alternate reality along with Hiro. I can see Hiro going back in time several weeks or more and then taking his friend back to shortly before the Waitress dies but there's no way I can see Hiro's friend remaining in the present reality, totally cognizant of what's going on unless Hiro can be in two places at once.
I "think" there are 22 episodes this season. We've got a long ways to go in the story if that's the case.

Bah, December 4th is the last episode of Heroes for awhile:
I also read that the first season has been extended from 22 to 23 episodes. The first half of the season ends on December 4th. How long will viewers have to wait until new episodes are aired? When in January will be you starting up again? And will it be non-stop, or will there be another break?
The plan is to go out on December 4th with our 11th episode (cliffhangers, of course). Then 7 more in a row beginning in late January. Then finish the season with a 5 episode freight train to the end of the season. We know as viewers that that is extremely important to have those kinds of runs to keep you in the story and cannot praise the powers that be at NBC for making it so viewer friendly.

I'm completely convinced Claire's father isn't a "bad guy" but more neutral. Definitely not working with Sylar. We do know however that he killed (accidentally it would seem) Claire's real parents and that they also had powers of some sort.Winnow wrote:Claire's dad doesn't seem totally bad and appears sincere about trying to save his foster daughter.

The worst thing that mr bennet has done is appear on-screen with ominous music whenever they advertise that "We will see the face of evil". Other than that, we havent seen him do a single evil thing. Lots of mysterious things, but nothing evil.
Theyre building him up so when hes revealed to be an actually good guy (i think they made it pretty obvious already especially last ep) it will be a SHOCKER.
Personally I'm thinking that many of them will end up with him in a bit of a warped Professor X role, since he has been studying their kind for years and is even able to help them learn to control their abilities. He helped elf girl, wants to help isaac, and has apparently amplified Radioactive Man and the cop's powers.
the arc with the waitress is great. the cliffhanger at the end is superb.... very creative

I think it's pretty obvious she's a "pusher" and that also explains why Mr Bennett was irritated that she didn't get Mohinder to stay. She used the whole "he's already left" as an excuse not to "try harder" (as I think he put it)cadalano wrote:she whispered more than just a persuasive argument into Isaac's ear, but other than that she never did anything similar to Mohinder.. even when she was trying to convince him to stay in the US.

Good stuff last night.
Elf Girl and Haitian capture Sylar. Simone and Muhindar become believers. Jessica lets lose a sniper shot at DL. The Cheerleader was saved. The world was saved. And now we jump back 6 months.
Was it just me, or was there a photo of Muhindars dad just above Hiro in that photo collage?

Elf Girl's turning out to be pretty powerful. Besides the cop telepath (who may be under the control of Clair's dad anyway), Clair's dad has a monopoly on mind control heroes with the Haitian mind wiper and elf girl tag teaming people.
This series rocks but the Mohinder storyline is moving a little slow. I'm starting to lose interest in the Alter Ego/Phase Power Man storyline as well. Unless something changes fast, it just seems like a stalking sideline story off by itself.
I like the developments in the Clair story. A hero besides Hiro has finally become comfortable with their powers. Even Emo boy seems to have figured things out concerning his powers.
I like characters to be developed but Heroes in on the verge of being a bit stretched out. Commercials, combined with the snail's pace storyline are driving me nuts even with a recorded copy that I can fast forward through.
That said, things almost have to pick up now with Sylar captured and Clair, Emo, and Hiro's friend sort of starting to get the group together.
The Politician took a step back this episode. He's kind of a dick and I'm wondering if he'll ever come around and get with the program.
I see Mohinder in the Professor X type role more than Clair's dad. Clair's dad is more of a secret government organization X-Files type with deep pockets to eventually provide the expense account for the heroes.
