Well, pragmatically, vacating the case won't really affect anything other than the government's priority in seeking the 43.5 million. They can still lay claim in civil court to a share of his estate.
Vacating is not exonerating (enronerating). And we all know he was a criminal.

qft! This is what I meant by it, sorry that it came off differrent. That guy ruined hundreds, if not thousands, of lives through his greed. Not only was he convicted of it, but his estate should be monitarily responsible for the recompense of his actions, despite his 'untimely' death.

I say give his widow enough to scrape by and give the rest back to the people he screwed. It won't come close to recompensing all the people he hurt but it is better than nothing.

Even though he was just following precedent, I bet that judge is out of a job soon. If I read this correct that means the US government has to get in line for the leftovers just like everyone else.
But I bet they still get 1st shot at putting that money in their coffers instead of helping out the people who have to bust their asses to make up for the losses they took.
