What are your predictions for tonight's game? People are comparing the Bears to the '85 team. To go along with their great defense, this year they have a good offense. There are only two teams left on their schedule with winning records. Talk of a 16-0 season is in the air.

The Cardinals are without Larry Fitzgerald and their offensive line ranks as one of the worst in the league.

My prediction: Chicago 21, Arizona 24

I'm a homer and must pick the Cardinals.

My non homer prediction would be: Chicago 24, Arizona 10

If the Edge would be able to get past the offensive line and score some touchdowns, my fantasy team would be in a lot better position than they are now! Turning out to be a disappointment of a keeper pick.

Chicago will continue their dominance and not even get stopped by Arizona, Bears 31 Cards 9.

In fantasy football, I am down by two points with Robbie Gould and Chicago's TE left to play. My opponent has Thomas Jones.

I predict that Thomas Jones will have 160 yards rushing and 2 TD and I'm going to lose this week.

The Cardinals defense isn't that bad against the run. Larry Johnson only had 36 yards rushing against them last week and S. Jackson (Rams) only had 62 vs the Cardinals their other game at home. Where they'll get burned is on screen passes so Thomas Jones will still get yardage receiving if not rushing.

I'm down by 31 points with Thomas Jones, Anquan Boldin and Neil Rackers left. I figure I have a chance as Chicago will probably have the lead and use ball control with Thomas Jones and the Cardinals will be throwing to try and catch up so Boldin should get some garbage yards in a blowout.

The Cardinals aren't too shabby defensively with big play potential to score (99 yard TD a few games ago by Adrian Wilson) but there's no getting around a bad offensive line. Matt Leinart looked good though!

You think a team that can barely put up 20 points against the below average defenses of St Louis, Seattle and Philly is going to rack up 24 against the best defense in the league? Sure they scored 34 against San Fran, but they are right fucking horrbile.

Leinart had a pretty good game vs the Chiefs but the Bears defense is going to be a real wakeup call for him.

I really hope Leinart does well. He's got loads of talent and potential, but I think he'll be lucky if he can walk off the field under his own power tonight.

The Cardinals are driving and at midfield right now, down 24-23. I'd like to go on record saying that Urlacher is going to block the field goal attempt to seal the win, then he's going to eat Neil Rackers still-beating heart right out of his chest.

It won't surprise me one bit.

My head asplode! I spent the entire night at work in a rut because I only saw the first quarter and only got 1 update, "6 minutes to go, 23-10 Arizona." I'm on my way home with the news on the radio and I hear, "And in football last night, the Bears beat the Cardinals 24-23". I may have pooped a little. A win is a win. How they won I do not know (well, actually it was just like all last season... defense and special teams). I have never in my life seen quite the fiasco I saw in the first quarter. The defense was playing like it was Carolina in the playoffs and the offense was playing like... well, like the Bears offense. I cannot believe they won... I am shocked and awed, and a little confused.

Seriously Noel, the only thing I was thinking as the Bears won is "Matt Leinhart played a great game, I feel bad for him." And the Cardinals coach, whose record is not the best, yet his team has played well these past few games. I know a loss is a loss, and he will probably be fired at the end of the season if things do not shape up, but still, they had the Bears beat until the end. A tough loss for the Cardinals.

I was at the game. We were getting ready to leave early after rex was intercepted the last time. As we were getting up to go the fumble and touchtown happened. Then the punt return shortly after. Good times. Go Bears!

I've got to officially write off the season but add the positives:

-The Cardinal defense only gave up 3 points to the #1 offense in the league. Thomas Jones rushed for 39 yards the game after Larry Johnson only rushed for 36 yards. I like Arizona's defense.

-Matt Leinart drove the Cardinals down the field vs the Chiefs for a potential game winning FG the week before and he was able to do it again this week. I think Leinart has impressed just about everyone with his play.

-Anquan Boldin is a super stud WR. Last game was no fluke. Boldin has a RB mentality and consistently breaks tackles and plays full speed. He does it every game.

Negatives

-Offensive line cost the Cardinals the game. I can forgive a special teams TD and even Edge's "stood up and stripped" fumble...but you can't let your QB get blindsided by not even attempting to block the defensive end on your QB's blind side.

-Neil Rackers has got to be the biggest disappointment on the team. The offensive line was known to suck. Rackers was the best kicker in the league last year and has missed a "chip shot" 40 yard game winning field goal and a 51 yard FG the week before to tie the game with seconds left. He's also missed two other makable FGs including an earlier one int he Bears game that would have made the difference. He's getting big bucks and missing way more than his share of FGs.

That's it for the Cardinals this year. I could give a shit if they win ten straight. (I'll give a shit again if they miraculously make the playoffs) I'm not going to get worked up over them. Time to use every draft pick on offensive linemen next year. Their last OL from USC drafted this year isn't even on the field.

Devin Hester had an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown on Monday night after having an 84-yard touchdown on a punt in the Bears' first game. The only two other rookies in NFL history who had at least two 80-yard punt-return touchdowns in their rookie seasons were George Atkinson for the 1968 Raiders and Craig Yeast for the 1999 Bengals.

The Bears are only the second team in NFL history to score at least twice on fumbles and at least once on a return of either a kickoff or a punt in one game. On Oct. 25, 1964 the Browns beat the Giants, 42-20, behind fumble-return touchdowns by Paul Wiggin and Charlie Scales and a punt return by Leroy Kelly.

Edgerrin James had a key fumble in the fourth quarter and gained only 55 yards on 36 carries. That's the most carries in one game in NFL history by a player who did not average at least two yards per rush. The old record was set way back on Nov. 25, 1951, by the Giants Eddie Price, who ran 32 times for 47 yards.

What's funny is that I'm a Lions fan and even I can laugh at the Cardinals.

I can't blame Edge for that fumble. His line was getting blown up all night, and on that particular play, he got stood up by a D-lineman, and had 2 linebackers (Urlacher and #99 I think) both working on stripping that ball.

With that line, it's just shocking and a testament to someone's skill that the Card's were ever in the game. That's easily one of (if not the) worst O-line in the NFL.

As a team, the Bears lead the NEFC in scoring offense (40.3 ppg) and total offense (436.1 ypg) and rank third in both rushing offense (219.4 ypg) and passing offense (216.7 ypg) thanks in large part to the outstanding work of the offensive line.

I think he meant that the Bears are no one special and that the only reason they look so good (Soooo Good!!) is that they are playing teams like Buffalo and Green Bay. The media has made them out to be the greatest team the league has seen since the 1848 Wallabies took the pennant from the Yake Drakers in the 3rd. I'm a Bears fan from way back (the first football game I ever got into was the Bears Superbowl victory), and I am not convinced they are any better than last year. Their defense is still among the best in the league, but their offense is still piss-poor. They can pull big plays against teams that suck, but any decent defense will shut the Bears down (mind you, this does not explain the Seattle game... it would appear that one defies explanation.)

yeah, Denny green was so pissed he wasn't making any sense.

He was trying, as you mentioned, that the Bears aren't that great and can be beat which Monday Night demonstrated as I don't think anyone can say Chicago planned two defensive TDs and one Special Teams TD to win the game late in the second half. The Cardinal gameplan in the first half, before they went conservative, showed the rest of the NFL how to beat the Bears D...unless people think Matt Leinart, the rookie, is better than most QBs and can't be copied. There was no luck on those two TD drives(tipped balls, interceptions, tripped DBs, etc, Leinart just picked apart the defense.

Chicago got lucky that Rackers sucked ass and missed two very makable field goals that were all his fault and nothing the Bears did to make him miss.
