Christopher Columbus: The Discovery (1992)

Post by Winnow »

This has to rank as one of the worst movies ever.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103962/

Tom Selleck as King Ferdinand

HORRIBLE. He looked like Magnum PI dressed in robes. He also looked like he wanted to get off the set ASAP.

Marlon Brando as Tomas de Torquemada

What is it with this guy? Does he have beer flavored nipples? (high school movie reference!) I don't see the talent of his acting...escpecially in his later years. HORRIBLE.

Rachel Ward as Queen Isabella

She was ok in The Thorn Birds and Against all Odds...after that she should have used what was left of her looks to find a rich man and retire from acting.

Georges Corraface as Christopher Columbus

Not bad. I'll give him a passing grade for the movie.

Catherine Zeta-Jones as Beatriz

Eye candy for the movie. Her part could have been written out of the movie with ease though.

Benicio Del Toro as Alvaro Harana

Another reconizable face, miscast and is only forgivable because it was one of his early movies before he managed some good roles. Acters have to eat.

Nigel Terry as Roldan

Some may remember him as King Authur from the movie Excaliber. He plays a bad guy in this movie and sucks.

Rest of the actors

Sucked.

This movie was totally thrown together. It's as bad as movie making gets.

Pros: the indian chief's daughter had nice breasts.
Cons: lots

I suffered through this movie wondering if it was going to get better but it got worse. I'm warning anyone away from watching this movie that runs across it for some reason on some hick station like TNT, TBS or something. I caught it on INHD...HD did nothing to help the suck of this movie.

You chose the wrong movie about Columbus to watch my friend.

1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992) is where it's at.

Gérard Depardieu .... Christopher Columbus

Armand Assante .... Sanchez

Sigourney Weaver .... Queen Isabella

I sure do get frustrated with the way people treat others on this board. I intend on staying away from the CE forum.
