Maf54: ok..i better go vote..did you know you would have this effect on me
Teen: lol I guessed
Teen: ya go vote…I don't want to keep you from doing our job
Maf54: can I have a good kiss goodnight
Teen: :-*
Teen: <kiss>

Are these messages offically confirmed from the text messaging/phone service?
I can whip up a quick text conversation I had with Foley as well!
I'd like to see something official from the phone company.ABC News now has obtained 52 separate instant message exchanges, which former pages say were sent by Foley, using the screen name Maf54, to two different boys under the age of 18.
Seems kind of odd that these pages all saved text messages form that long ago.

I guess I haven't followed this closely enough to hear when the messages were allegedly sent, but I have heard that Republican officials knew about this stuff for at least 11 and possibly as many as 60 months, so I'm guessing the pages didn't hold onto them for that long.
You probably have cybersex chat logs from EQ that are nearly that old on one of your drives somewhere, put it in perspective.

It says nothing about phone or text messages. it repeatedly states "instant messages," and judging by the context, they were written while in session, during a vote...which means he was using the workstation at his desk, and obviously there is going to be tight security on gov't workstations in the legislative building.Winnow wrote:Maf54: ok..i better go vote..did you know you would have this effect on me

So it's pretty apparent that logs of this would be kept. What's surprising is how long it would possibly have been kept secret.
I'm not familiar with text messaging. Are your text messages stored on a server for a period of time? If so, it's not that big a deal I suppose.Sylvus wrote:I guess I haven't followed this closely enough to hear when the messages were allegedly sent, but I have heard that Republican officials knew about this stuff for at least 11 and possibly as many as 60 months, so I'm guessing the pages didn't hold onto them for that long.

I've got EQ chat logs!
Here's some exciting EQ chat log text when bablefish was active:

we have a product called facetime we use to log all IM's into/out of our corporate network. It requires resetting the IM servers IP to the facetime box but that's easy to do when everyone runs the standard corporate image.
Plus, most IM's (with the exception of the shitty exchange IM you get with Microsoft's email) automatically log messages into a text file. I have conversations with Zeep that go back years.
I'm holding on to those for future blackmail.
So I can see these kids having logs of the IM's for a long time.
