No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

Who said it?

Post by Xanupox »

Last night another Ragefire incident happen that involved my guild and another guild that has increased its bad name reputation across the server.

A cleric in my guild is on the Ragefire step for the 2nd time. He failed 1 time in the early morning when not enough people were present to handle Ragefire.

Through dedication and through the guild urging him not to give up, he started the quest again and we were ready for him to turn in his pearl to spawn ragefire.

We started camping Ragefire this past Sunday.

We cleared the FG's and then proceeded to sit in his lair - a minimum of 4 to 5 of us were present throughout the days. During this period of time (from Sunday till last night) that is all we did. We called for additional people to come help when FG's were spawning and kept them cleared.

Last night, I logged on. I greeted my Guild and saw that there were 7 additional guild mates sitting in the lair. I stood up from the corner and looked around. We were the only ones present in the lair.

I was talking with a few of them and the cleric that was ready to spawn Ragefire was feeling pretty good and he was feeling pretty confident that last night would be the night when Ragefire would spawn.

Indeed - approximately 5 minutes later Ragefire spawned. We did a /GU - Ragefire is up, make way to Sol B.

Within 5 minutes we had 2 additional groups of guildmates show up. We started grouping up and getting buffs ready. We had at least another 3 groups getting ports and getting ready to come.

5 minutes later, this other guild (who had been already grouped and in fear) comes rushing in, walks past us, and ignores the fact that we have almost 3 groups there and proceeds to hand in the pearl. They engage Ragefire and kill him and loot the corpse.

Most of them gate out and return to fear. A few of them stick around to taunt after the whole zone starts flaming them.

I know this topic has been discussed many times and the conclusion of most of the people feel that those who have the first capable force within reasonable time to kill Ragefire can claim own to the spawn.

However, in this situation. We had been actively clearing the FG's and sitting in the lair for the last 3 days. We had a force that was capable of killing Ragefire when the other guild showed up.

We thought that they would be human beings enough to engage in conversation to make sure nothing happened. Our ranking officer present tried to engage their ranking officer in conversation to make it known that we were about to engage when they handed in the pearl.

Was this another case of plain and simple greed? Yes the rules state that they technically had rights to the spawn since they handed in the pearl first. However, the more important debate is wether that was the morale thing to do in this situation.

They claim they have a character that frequently logs in to check the spawn and did so last night and knew Ragefire was up. However, this same person said that when they logged in last night to check, that they didn't see anybody in the lair.

How could you log in to check for Ragefire and fail to notice 8 people (at minimum) standing around Ragefire?

This whole attitude is sickening and disheartening to think that people actually have this attitude about a game.

Grats for being famous for no other reason than posting the home address of Fires of Heaven's guildleader.

You're still here?

What a joke.

If you still have your ridiculous annotated Yelinak capture, I'd love to see it again.

You're still a douchebag, but at least that would entertain me.

I assume you mean "moral", which is odd coming from you, oh steamroller of steamrollers. Maybe you did mean morale, and you just can't convey a message clearly in english. The world may never know...

On a side note, I have the infamous Xanupox in a Pot image on my computer, but I can't seem to figure out how to post it.[/img]
