Umm no place is safe from the fact that most people are scum. Besides which, safe is relative, native or immigrant?, New Immigrant versus old?

Yeah

I feel bad this shit happens and wish there was a way to prevent it.

and some retards are clamoring for "stricter gun laws"... like the registry the Liberal Party was so proud of, stopped this from happening, despite Alan Rock's promises after Marc Lepine's rampage...

Gun control can't prevent crimes like this.
This guys guns were registered and legal.
Gun control helps prevent guns being used in heat of the moment crimes.
This was obviously premeditated.

Which is exactly why calls for more/new/stricter gun laws are a farce, and Charest is saying he wants to "take on the feds" over it. Its the same shit that was said after the Lepine's rampage: people claiming they have a solution when its not even the same issue. Last time it got us a multi-billion dollar white elephant of a registry, so who knows what we'll get this time.

So just because they can't prevent a premeditated crime comitted with a legally registered gun they are a farce?

It's too bad they can't collect statistics on how many gun crimes that weren't comitted because the perpetrator did not have free and easy access to a firearm.

You're just as bad as the retards clamoring for stricter gun laws by claiming that the existing gun laws are ineffective and a farce.

Well genius, show us some ideas for new laws that will improve things?

I'm willing to bet you can't come up with anything reasonable because Canadian gun laws cover everything reasonable and in some cases going a bit beyond (i.e. both firearms and ammunition have to be locked but in seperate locations, so you can't lock a hunting rifle/shotgun and its shells in the same cabinet). I'm not an advocate of getting rid of anything (except the money sink of a registry that Rock, McClellan and the rest of Chretien syndicate made us over-pay for) but I don't see anything else that is reasonable, and most likely constitutional, that can be added (try introducing a total ban, for instance, and watch the native groups strike it down as a treaty violation).

This is another instance of people talking out their collective asses without having anything to contribute and thats what pisses me off. Put up or STFU.
