hmmm, check this out.
Download this app, install and watch away! This is some sort of internet TV.

I'm checking out the channels right now.
There's slight delay while it initially buffers and then a clear picture.
HBO
CNN
ESPN
ESPN2
ABC
CBS
FOX
NBC
NASA TV
Cartoon Network
Other Channels
I'm watching HBO over it right now and the picture's not bad. Definately watchable.
Not sure how this can be legal but if you don't have cable/satellite and want to watch a sporting event or HBO, check it out.
If it continues to work, I'm going to use it to watch more football games on Sunday since I don't have DirecTV and Sunday Ticket atm. I'm sure these are LA or New York network feeds so will probably get a different game than I'll get.

I want to say it works in some torrent-esque fashion. If you'll notice on the bottom it shows a download/upload speed and total downloaded/uploaded (as well as a "peers" number).
Perhaps it's "legal" because the users are the ones transferring the data and the TVUPlayer is just managing it?

TVU networks is a new global live TV service that enables TV Broadcasters and private individuals to broadcast TV channels to a global audiences over the Internet. TVU uses a new application-level multicasting technology (similar to peer-to-peer file sharing) that allows broadcast costs to be exponentially lower than those of today’s streaming technology.

wikipedia:
TVUnetworks is an Internet-based P2PTV company based in China. The software they produce is called TVUPlayer. This works on bittorrent technology to distribute TV stations from around the world.
The legality of this application is not known. As the list below suggests, there are a number of channels carried by this software which could breach copyright laws.
One could argue that if a person was already recieving a channel they chose to view, then there is no breach of copyright

I started the TVU client up again the other day. They are constantly moving channels on and off of their list. It really makes me wonder how much authorization they have to stream the broadcasts. HBO is gone which I didn't see lasting long anyhow, but then Deutsche Welle was removed which made me feel TT Every time I get regular access to DW, it gets yanked.
