Planetside (+ Reserves)

Post by noel »

I've started playing PS again. I'm not really going to go into my motivations, but it has a lot to do with messing with the reserves thing and being frustrated with the lack of cert points. I reactivated my main so I have some more to play with. Anyway, I'm still 'halo14' on Markov in Wetworks.

The reserves thing is pretty cool if you don't wanna spend cash on it. You're limited to BR6 which means 11 cert points and 1 implant, and you can get to BR5 (11 cert points no implants) just by going through the training (if you know what you're doing).

Just thought I'd let people know. If you wanna play as a reserve let me know and I'd be happy to add you to Wetworks. I'm not on super often, but I am from time to time.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

where did VVEtworks finally end up? TR? If so, I will jump on and create a character if I don't have one there already.

Yeah it's on TR. If you look at the number of people who haven't played in 897 days it's kind of humorous.

I have tried to download this game for the free trial so many times now from fileplanet and EACH time the download is corrupted. Any other places I could download it from?

I had no problems with the Fileplanet file when I reinstalled. I downloaded the trial and used my old account info to log in.

If you have any other SOE game installed you can make a copy of the shortcut and go to properties and change the name to planetside. It will download the PS launcher and then the client.

I don't believe so. I am not at home right now to check, but I think you need the two Armor (tank) certs plus the actual Battle Frame Robotics cert. You could pick up a Uni-MAX cert and a vehicle cert though. Uni-MAX gives you AI, AA, and AV MAX for 5 (I think) points.

The big ones are the BFRs I mentioned above. You won't be able to get the necessary certs off of the Reserve program to have one. You can be the gunner in a two-seat variant at BR1 though.

I play for a few hours 2-3 nights a week as a sort of end-of-the-day kinda thing. You know, a little blood before bed. :)

PM Me, Lover :D  :)

I still browse this board. Currently, I'm playing UT exclusively because I find all other (non-pay to play) FPS's to be dull and unentertaining. But I miss the hot dropping over a massive force occupied base, and saving the hack at the final seconds or the killwhoring defense we used to put on. Nothing like a squad of 10 or 15 guys raping the entire zerg.

I was just wondering whether or not its worth it to load this back up. Or did Sony continue to lame away at gameplay by nerfing everything rather than fixing bugs?

I miss my jackhammer, it needs to pwn nubcakes a.k.a kilmoll.

Well you could load it up with the free account but you can only get to BR 6. They haven't really nerfed much that I saw, but it can definitely be a zergfest at times. There were still a few groups who were doing a lot of hotdrops on towers and shit....some of them were some of the old school TR that had come back.

I miss the experience I had in Beta. After I tried it later the fun lasted less than a week.

I don't remember everyone that was in the outfit in beta, but I remember Brittney and Kilmoll(?) were badass pilots, Kyoukan dumping random passengers into the ocean, killing Inosolan repeatedly every chance I got...etc. Good times.

I learned that gunning in tanks for Avestan was a good thing, but getting out of a tank when he was anywhere near it was bad. He had a tendency to run shit over.

Ahh the good ole days of flying a galaxy like it was a fighter ;) Defending a base from the onslaught of NC and Vanu forces. Shooting down things with AA Max's on the roof of buildings. The Combat Engineering defense of towers, placing turrets and mines everywhere.

Lots of great memories there :)
