Not very good. I give it 6 out of 10, tops.

Pros - Moody, eerie, with good sound. There were some truely epic kills in this movie (but far too long between the fun stuff and the boring stuff). Great monsters. Great special effects.

Cons - Pretty much everything else. It was confusing. It didn't explain much at all, only the central plot. All other subplots and characters were never explained in any way. You really didn't give a fuck about a single character in the movie. Actually, I honsetly do not understand why 3/4 of the characters were even in this movie at all. There were also many fast edits without thinking. ie: The chick is locked in a room with one door, someone is trying to get in, then the next scene she is runnning down the hallway... How did she get in the hallway if there was only one way in/out and it was blocked? Several instances with stuff like that happening that really detracted from enjoying the film. It was a slow film, and you could tell it was based on a video game because the chick gathered all her clues and figured out situtations exactely like I was controlling her with a joystick.

Rent it for the special effects, sound, and moodiness. I would say those things were worth the price, everything else was garbage.

Liked the effects and the weird shambling creatures, never played the game!

Loved the scene when

[Show]: the main char and the policewoman was cornered behind a door and the fella with bugs tries to enter

, other than that i thought it was crap! Especially the end!

Actually saw this in the theater.. unfortunately.

You sit through 2/3 of the movie dealing with the suckage hoping that it's going to pay off in the end.. and then you realize what the end is and you realize too, that it's going to suck.

Then again, I never played the game(s) so maybe I'm missing the goodness of it.

Well, the movie had eerie moments and good/creepy scenes here and there, but i don't think it entitled a whole movie!

I think around 15-20 minutes total (compiled from different scenes from the movie) were enjoyable, the rest was crap.

The buildup was good but the rest was boooooring.

They could have made it much more exciting mid-film and with an entirely different ending.
