Anyone remember l-computer?

Post by Zaelath »

They're supposed to be a big company.. has anyone seen any of their stuff? I see they're listed on the NASDAQ as LITL.PK

They're up to 5 screens now, with a supposed max res of 19200 x 2400

But my favourite is the ad for the four screen version, with which I can "brake all the rules!" http://www.l-computer.com/monitors/gran ... /index.htm

Broken english aside... I can only assume this is an ongoing stock spam scam judging from the spam I got today... and none of the gear on their site exists.

This was a funny bit from one of their pages:
Multi-RAID Serial ATA-150

The Mach 3.8 offers the most complete RAID solution with RAID 10 and a maximum of 2 Ultra ATA-133 ports and 2 SATA 150 ports, enabling to build co-existing RAID 1, 0 and 10 disk arrays with any 2, 3, or 4 of the ports in any combination, up to a gigantic 2 Terabytes.
Lovely example of "here's a technology I don't understand, but we'll say it's leading edge!!!!!".

Its not neccesarily the company thats doing this, and I'm pretty sure whoever is doing it is actually not breaking any laws. Pink sheets are targetted because they rarely file with the SEC or make headlines so its easy to make up bullshit about them. They are also usually microcaps or penny-stocks which are very volatile and can be influenced relatively strongly by hype, such as email spam campaigns.

Thats why most brokerages either won't give you the ability to buy microcaps, or they'll make sure you know the massive risks involved.

I have gotten a lot of stock spam in the last week or two. I am up to 3 or four a day now whereas I was getting nothing two weeks ago.

These are scam in that the senders will buy a bunch of the stock. They will then send out their emails and wait for suckers to buy into it and cause the price to go up. They then dump their stock for a profit and all the suckers get screwed.

TODAY'S STOCK MARKET REPORT

Helium was up, feathers were down.
Paper was stationary.
Fluorescent tubing was dimmed in light trading.
Knives were up sharply.
Cows steered into a bull market.
Pencils lost a few points.
Hiking equipment was trailing.
Elevators rose, while escalators continued their slow decline.
Weights were up in heavy trading.
Light switches were off.
Mining equipment hit rock bottom.
Diapers remained unchanged.
Shipping lines stayed at an even keel.
The market for raisins dried up.
Coca Cola fizzled.
Caterpillar stock inched up a bit.
Sun peaked at midday.
Balloon prices were inflated.
Scott Tissue touched a new bottom.
And batteries exploded in an attempt to recharge the market.

It was a random "joke" email I got back in 1998. I just ran across it while looking for another my mom was looking for (How to give a cat a pill).
