Are the Tigers fo ril?

Post by Leonaerd »

I didn't believe it at first. No way could a simple managerial switch turn the tides of a historically laughable team. But it happened. And they're cruising. 10 full games ahead of the next best team with more than 50 games to play? Hell no.

Hell yes. Is Jim Leyland Jesus? Discuss.

I like to think of him more as Tiny Baby Jesus than Old Bearded Jesus.

Jesus nonetheless.

I trashed the Tigers in the beginning of the year. No way was this real. But, it sure seems it now. Leyland could in fact be a God.

We could perhaps see a repeat of the 1984 series, the San Diego Padres and the Detroit Tigers. However, this year, the Padres will be victorious. We are due for a win.

I was at those 1984 games. It was so heartbreaking.

Going to be interesting.

Tigers blew that 10 game lead, but still are in the playoffs.

Should be an interesting playoffs this year, no real "stand out" team.

The are apparently very for ril.. just ask the Yankees.

At this point it's hard not to pick them to win it all. If their pitching performs like it did against the yankees offense, the A's don't have a chance.

You were right about one thing Adel, your Padres were due for a win Saturday. ;) Sorry you have to keep going down to us in the NLDS year after year. But hey 1-9 isn't too bad right? There's always next year! Grats on a great season and NL West Championship, we'll definitely see you next year.

Certainly was and is different having the Cardinals being called the underdogs this year. We'll take anything we can get after the crap slide we took at years end. It's a position we haven't been in for awhile so there isn't as much pressure this time around! Underdogs to the Padres, underdogs to the Mets.

Here comes a rematch of the 2000 NLCS Cane! Should be a fun series and hopefully we won't have a repeat of that ;) Very happy that there will not be another subway series this year. I'll be rooting for Oakland and former Cardinal Danny Haren, but Detroit looks like their for ril

Bring on the Pond Scum! Err Mets!

I was at that game in about the best seats I've ever had at CoPa. Downtown was fucking CRAZY that night. Awesome game, I couldn't have been more than like 30 or 40 feet from Magglio when he hit that, you could tell when the ball hit the bat that the game was over.

Now I just need to decide if I want them to sweep the next series too, or drop a couple games so they can come win it at home. What do you think?

We've only taken 8 games to do two series(es?). With the NBA playoffs, games are spaced out and there's one more series played. But with the MLB, it's like the playoffs have barely started and we're already almost done with them. I'd like a 6 game wallop over PooHoles.

Win it at home. In 2001 when the Diamondbacks won it, New York won three straight games to force a seventh game in Arizona. We won it in dramatic fashion in the 9th, after losing the lead in the top of the 9th.

It was a great series! Of course 911 that year and the Yankees (New York) being involved made it even more dramatic. I hope Detroit ends up with a good World Series. Win it in six!
