Having lived in other states, watching TV is a fast way to see how different advertising is here. In other states, you might hear them say the state name once in a car commercial. In Texas, you hear the state name 3-4 times, see the state flag, a picture of the capitol in the background, fields of bluebonnets, see an emblem shaped like the state, etc.. Hell, you have to take Texas History in Middle or High School, and the history book used to be thicker than the US History book (only because US History was split into two books).
I have no problem with it at all. It would be nice to see that kind of pride in any state.
