How close is the Middle East to all-out war?

What do you think about the world?

Were you replying to me? Because you're not refuting anything I said. Maybe you think that you are?

In 2003, more than half of the top 25 recipients of U.S. arms transfers in the developing world (13 of 25) were defined as undemocratic by the U.S. State Department’s Human Rights Report: in the sense that "citizens do not have the right to change their own government" or that right was seriously abridged. These 13 nations received over $2.7 billion in U.S. arms transfers under the Foreign Military Sales and Commercial Sales programs in 2003, with the top recipients including Saudi Arabia ($1.1 billion), Egypt ($1.0 billion), Kuwait ($153 million), the United Arab Emirates ($110 million) and Uzbekistan ($33 million).
Well by golly...those all appear to be Muslim countries.
The biggest increases in dollar terms went to countries that were directly or indirectly engaged as U.S. allies in the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan, including Jordan ($525 million increase from 2001 to 2003), Afghanistan ($191 million increase), Pakistan ($224 million increase) and Bahrain ($90 million increase).
Hmmmm...more Muslim countries. You may also notice that some of those were banned from receiving sales previously due to harboring terorists. Once their governments began to at least put a little pressure on to eliminate that, they began to get sales.
Change those to Syria, Lebannon and Algeria and I might be more impressed. Jordan? Christ, may as well say Canada.

There is no way they would sell arms to Syria and Lebanon currently. Maybe if the governments of those countries were arming their military to eliminate terrorists inside their borders....but if they were interested in doing that, then Israel would not need to attack them.

Shut the fuck up and stop missing the point.

Anyone who believes destroying another Middle Eastern country is going to anything other than worsen the already dire situation in that region (predominantly caused by Western influence in the last 100 years) is an out and out fucking moron who doesn't get to post anymore.

I'm fascinated by your cluelessness Nick. I mean that in all earnestness. You are seeing the world through a horribly distorted prism of hatred and indoctrination. Yet you're so cocksure your vision is perfect.

I'm sure your cocktail of gin, religious dogma, fanatical "patriotism", and cataracts however gives you a crystal clear view.

Care to elaborate Metanis on how a desire for peace constitues hatred?

I'm all ears.

This is delightful, you make my case for me with every utterance.

Leaves me amused. That is a very "peaceful" stance you've got there buddy. You must be hilarious when you advocate violence.

So....saying that the destruction of a country is a bad thing constitutes hatred?

Nice logic Einstein. You do realise you failed to make any point with that post other than to cement the already well known fact that you're a total fool? Surely you must.

Maybe you just disagree with me telling people to shut the fuck up when they advocate unmitigated violence? That too "hateful" for you? Have some fucking perspective.

Jesus Christ Metanis, reread what you quoted. Then reread it again. Nick was arguing that the violence would lead to further bloodshed. If violence won't work, then clearly advocating peace is the clear approach. Are you dense?

We must get off oil. I dumps too much money into that whole region and amplifies the problems that reside there.

You want to spend money for middle east peace? Pour your finances and efforts into 3 things.

1. Large capacity electrical storage (better batteries)
2. Room temperature superconductor (pipe electricity around with minimal losses)
3. Fusion (make electricity so cheap that it would be more cost effective than fossil fuel)
