The closest thing Bush has to a collection of medals would be his old office door name plates from the various companies that he ran into the ground. But hey, I bet they have gold lettering and a nice bold font.
Too bad the whole issue wasn't about President Bush, it was false claims about how *snicker* GREAT Kerry was because of his medals.

Besides, who is in the Oval office. Apparently people value more than a few ribbons on a uniform (rightly so) .
Actually, the whole issue started with Midnyte's comment of
Midnyte wrote:Yup, sure did and I'd do it again. When given the choice of conservative religious dumb guy versus liberal, no stance taking, spineless lurch-lookin scumbag....I'll take Bush. Maybe next time we will have better options.
I cannot fathom how anyone, hindsight being 20/20, would choose Bush again. Granted, I didn't really see how one could choose him from the beginning, but after 6 years of steadily declining polls and looking at where the world is at today, Kerry's lack of charisma and the Republican smear campaign that cast doubts on how much he deserved the (multiple) medals he received serving in combat still make him look like a worse choice than bush? How the fuck is that possible?

Kerry was called a flip-flopper because he supported some bills in their original form and then changed his mind after they became christmas trees with all the riders attached. Bush (and Cheney) has come out in televised press conferences saying one thing, then later saying he didn't ever say it (I don't have specific examples off the top of my head, but I've seen numerous side-by-side examples on the Daily Show; his changing stance on firing anyone who leaked CIA information being the first one that comes to mind).

Bush did nothing in his stint in the military, going so far as to behave questionably (feel free to refute the claims that he was essentially AWOL for a time, that changes little) while remaining stateside, yet the guy who was actually in combat and honored with several medals is still the one who is attacked whenever that topic is brought up.

Bush lacks tact and basic english grammar. He's shown downright contempt for the Constitution and interprets law in whatever way he chooses. He got us into a pointless war for reasons unknown (the reason has changed 4 or 5 times and it still probably could). His favorability polls have almost constantly declined and are lower than any president's in recent memory. He's looked you in the eye and lied to your face.

All that, and you'd still vote for him? Again? Just because Kerry is ugly and Gore is a bit wooden? Shit, I'd vote for just about any Presidential candidate from any party (Ross Perot, Bob Dole, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, Ralph Nader... probably even George H.W. Bush) in the last 5 elections before I'd vote for George W. Bush.

Agreed. I thought about making a few responses to the things Midnyght & Metanis posted..but then realized it would be a waste of time. Midnyght at least has a point sometimes, but metanis is a total write-off.

I so sick of that bullshit... what "shit" from Bill are you talking about? WTF do all you morons have against Clinton? Damn man, he cheated on his wife and lied about it... then was asked under oath, during some Republican witch hunt if he did and he lied again... he was impeached and but survived.

WTF else do you have to complain about the man? The Country was in fanstic shape, we had a surplus budget, at least part of the world was impressed with some of the good works we were doing, crime was down, unemployment was down, poverty was down, healthcare was under control, the gangs that has risen in the 80s and early 90s were loosing numbers etc etc etc... Yet some people seem to COMPLAIN about this President becaues he lied about a freakin' blowjob? GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY FACE WITH THAT SHIT!

GWB has this country on the brink of disaster from multiple wars on the forefront, 1 unjustified armed conflict that is killing our people, Abortions are up for the first time since the early 90s, there are almost 5 million MORE Americans living in poverty, more Americans that evern before don't have heathcare and those with it are paying out the nose, we have a prescription drug plan that our President didn't neg. for cheaper drug prices with the companies so WE are paying full retail price for the drugs - every company and country in the WORLD but us gets a discount but he had to pad those pockets and now YOU are paying retail, lest we not forget that the Gov is also watching everything on the net, your bank account and your phone calls just in case you make some "terroristic" threats... wake up or shut the fuck up.

Marb

PS - Sorry for the rant but some of these arguements are just pointless and stupid... maybe I shouldn't even post this... but I just can't fathom how ANYONE with even a shred of intelligence could say that they would suppor this idiot if they had it to do over again...

You dumbass. The hallmark of a good president is if they do NOT fuck things up. Clinton's only stupid shit was the Brady Act. Otherwise, that cocksucker was an awesome president. Didn't hurt that he was charismatic and pretty much liked globally. All you bible-banging righties keep talking about his flaws.... Hell, if we get another president that simply 'phones it in' and doesn't fucker things up too much, then we should be thrilled to get someone that was almost as good as Bill was.

Pretty much. In retrospect, that inbred fuck Gore/Tipper/Jay/et al would have been a fucking amazing president compared to the inbred piece of shit in office now.

Not really a win-win there.

1985 Flashback time!
The PMRC released the Filthy Fifteen to the public in 1985. These fifteen songs, according to Tipper Gore, fit the mold of the types of songs that the PMRC would like to see banned. In their original proposal, songs would be rated according to several categories:

V for violence
O for references to the occult
D/A for overuse of drugs/alcohol
X for harsh sexual content

Judas Priest -- "Eat Me Alive" -- Rated X
Motley Crue --"Bastard" -- Rated V
Prince -- "Darling Nikki" -- Rated X
Sheena Easton -- "Sugar Walls" -- Rated X
W.A.S.P. -- "(Animal) F-U-C-K Like a Beast" -- Rated X
Mercyful Fate -- "Into the Coven" -- Rated O
Vanity -- "Strap on Robbie Baby" -- Rated X
Def Leppard -- "High n' Dry" -- Rated D/A
Twisted Sister -- "We're Not Gonna Take It" -- Rated V
Madonna -- "Dress You Up" -- Rated X
Cyndi Lauper -- "She Bop" -- Rated X
AC/DC -- "Let Me Put My Love Into You" -- Rated X
Black Sabbath -- "Trashed" -- Rated D/A
Mary Jane Girls -- "My House" -- Rated X
Venom -- "Possessed" -- Rated O

Excellent PMRC list, Aslanna! :) However, where are 2-Live-Crew and Dead Kennedys? I remember Jello Biafra (DK) getting lambasted by those backwards PMRC fucks over the 'Frankenchrist' album....not to mention the asshattery surrounding then 1-hit-wonder 2-Live-Crew.

Once this whole silly nonsensical god-movement is gone, politics may have some ground to stand on. And yes, I did not use a capital 'G' in god, you ignorant-scared twats. ;)

Anyone that's married or been married knows that you can't blame Al for Tipper's PMRC crap. Of course he supported her. Shit, tell your wife you disagree with dinner and you're screwed for a week. Think of what would happen if you dissed her to the entire nation..

FUCK MARTINEZ!
FUCK FUCK MAR-TI-NEZ!

Gore lost because the NeoCons sold the NRA on the idea that he was going to try and round up all the guns if he was elected. They also did a really wonderful job hiding what a bunch of shady fucks GWB's advisors are.

The Kerry campaign was basically fucked from the get-go. Instead of coming out swinging with ads about what a bunch of filthy fucking liars and hypocrits Dubya and Pals are, he tried that "Respected Internationally" shit. He had really nothing to back up that assertion, other than the fact that it would have been hard to be less liked that Bush. When the Rove smear machine got into gear with the swift boat shit, it just made him look like an even bigger pussy.

Sadly, until the ignorant hicks in the "heartland" stop believing what the magic talking box tells them, our political landscape will be dominated by assholes who win via smear campaigns and talking points.
